  1. I don't understand why teams sell their tickets in increments. Is the Mets' stadium going to be done by Opening Day? Either way, they could just release those tickets later. The Hawks did that until a couple years ago though. Released tickets on various dates throughout the year.
  2. Just absolutely terrible defense. Awful. Campbell and Pelletier both went crashing into the corner and left Svatos wide open.
  3. Perfect shot by Hejduk. I'd give a slight edge to Laperriere over Fraser there, but not by much. Laperriere should've gotten an instigator there too, but I'd bet the refs missed it.
  4. Well, this is an inspiring PP so far.
  5. Good call on the instigator there. This one is going to get more chippy, I think.
  6. Buff has had a few nice hits today. And here we go.
  7. Walker just gave him a love tap, but it wasn't smart. Guite punked out and fell down, and then the ref had to call it. The defense playing like it is though, we can't be on the kill.
  8. I must have missed this. Hjarmallson (sp?) is in and Johnson is a scratch again? That's gotta hurt. He plays one game and then they bench him again.
  9. Somebody just wussed out on Eager. I didn't see who it was, but he was trying to grab him for a dance.
  10. Whaaat? I mean, we'll take it, but that made no sense.
  11. The Avalanche guys are saying the rule is when the ref "intended" to blow the whistle. I don't think he ever did, but they can't review when he intended to.
  12. That's a great job by Eager. Team is a step slow and lethargic. He did his job, and did it well.
  13. OHHHHHH Eager drilled him! What a right!
  14. I don't understand them not even looking at it, though it must have been pretty clear to the ref that it was a good goal. Colorado TV hasn't shown any replays that showed anything. Yea I think it was good goal, but you gotta review that. Okay, there's the replay. It went off Guite's glove.

  16. 4th line has been the best so far for the Hawks. They started the game and had a great shift, and good job by Burish behind the net to draw the penalty. They need to jump out on these guys, because the back-to-back is probably going to start to catch up with them later in the game. Niemi looks pretty sharp so far, though he hasn't had a tough save to make yet.
  17. It's better than having to watch a doppler radar because a couple of thunderstorms went through an hour ago and blew over some billboards and sheds. Yeah, I'm not watching the hockey game right now because of a combination of a church shooting in Illinois and bad weather in Illinois. Stupid Metro East. EDIT: I know storms are dangerous and all, but they just cut in for another weather update during a hockey fight. #-o
  18. I don't see anything on the Daily Herald, Trib, S-T or TSN about either of them. Sharp was 2-3 weeks minimum, and it's been 22 days. I don't think anything has been said in terms of a timetable for Khabi, just that he's "day-to-day." It sounded like from Q's comments yesterday that Niemi will start today. I'm not a churchgoer, but praise Jesus. Hasn't Khabi been out for 2 weeks, that's a little more than day-to-day. Do you think they are just saving him for the playoff run? If you believe you can lock up the 4 spot without Khabi, wouldn't it be smart to let him rest? Well yeah, but it's the same debate that goes on with NFL teams resting starters in Week 17. Or the Cubs resting guys after they've clinched the division. If you leave him sitting for too long he'll get rusty. But the main difference is that I'm not sure the Hawks can lock up the 4th spot without Khabi in net.

  20. I won't miss Alou's tantrums and stupid, uh, pissing matches with the umps.
  21. Interesting comment from Semin in a TSN article about today's game between Pitt and Wash and the "budding rivalry" between Sid and Ovie: Here's the article: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=270359&lid=headline&lpos=topStory_main
  22. I'm a little surprised NBC is airing Boston-Rangers over Sid-Ovie. I think I'm going to record the latter while I watch the Hawks game this afternoon.
  23. Regardless of how they play at home vs. on the road, I think holding onto the 4th spot would be a big confidence builder for the team. Too bad this game is on WGN today. It appears Center Ice will only have the Colorado feed.
  24. Vancouver has won 12 of 14 and is now 5 points back of the Hawks. Both have 19 to play. Obviously this isn't a true "must-win," but if the Hawks drop the game today I'll be concerned.
