  1. Foley has a serious crush on Hjalmarsson, but he is really good these days.
  2. WTF was that? And Huet got abused, though I'm not blaming him.
  3. That was a Kane-esque roofer.
  4. Ballgame. Johnny is good.
  5. This is...well, I was about to say this was going to be an uncomfortable six minutes. Then Nash got stupid.
  6. Gotta give credit to Seabrook for holding that puck in at the point and Fraser for the great pass. I hope Seabrook gets the second assist on that. EDIT: Kopecky had a touch in there so he got the other assist.
  7. BEN MF'ING EAGER! BOOM!
  8. TOEWS!
  9. At least Kane tried to get Heyda back...
  10. Sammy Pahlsson is a waste of oxygen. I wish we had Wiz back.
  11. We need a fight.
  12. So, now Mason is a stud and we are running into each other.
  13. We need Buff to step up and throw some hits. Eager and Fraser too. Slow these guys down a little.
  14. I'm sort of surprised Q didn't just keep him at the bench when he went to get a new stick.
  15. Bad net positioning by Huet on that last one. And more suspect defense and Huet is a [expletive] sieve.
  16. Bingo.
  17. What a first period. Easily could have scored six, including two posts. Pat and Eddie were right. They had so many pretty chances it started to look like the Globetrotters. And it's only 3-2.
  18. When he's on he's alright? He's not Martin Brodeur, but he's a good goalie. I really don't get all the constant concern about Huet. Because he's the weakest link on a championship caliber team, and a giant question mark as to how he's going to perform in the playoffs on a nightly basis. He goes into a funk and we're toast. But that's what I liked about last night's game. He didn't let the last game bother him and he bounced back. Maybe he's improving.
  19. He hasn't made the dumb mistakes this year. You need to watch more hockey me thinks DM said he's been better than last year. He does still make mistakes, but I have to say I've seen Seabrook make more bad plays this year than Campbell.
  20. I still can't believe he got that contract, or that people wanted him back in Chicago. Nobody really wanted us to give him the contract that Edmonton gave him. But given the choice of him or Huet, yeah, Khabi looked pretty good. Just like with Havlat, everyone could see this type of season coming.
  21. TLR comes out of this looking like almost as much of an ass as McGwire does. And now he's mad at the media for being so skeptical of his golden calf. The nerve. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/BE7AC4E6FC5699C3862576AA001585DD?OpenDocument
  22. Got my tickets today for the 2/6 and 3/30 Hawks games here in St. Louis. The games are sold out, but they were offering a ticket pack where you could choose any four remaining games for pretty cheap, and I guess they had tickets stashed away for that. So I also get to see Toronto and Washington here. Not bad at all.
  23. I'm pretty geeked up for the hockey tournament. And I always get sucked into watching the luge and speed skating. The way they televise it, they make it very easy to get into a sport you know nothing about.
  24. Checked the score after dinner last night and it was 5-1. WTF? Won't be able to go back and watch recording of the game for a few days. Sounds like Huet sucked? At least they get a chance to get it out of their system tonight.
  25. I'm in the camp that Niemi can be that franchise goalies, and because of this I don't think goalie should be a priority for the Hawks. If a real talented goalie falls into your lap, fine, but the presence of Niemi allows the Hawks to take their time with a goalie. I'm not sold on Niemi yet. I mean, this team is so good that Huet is one of the league leaders in GAA, for crying out loud. Niemi is benefitting too. But he sure does seem to have that ability to make the tough saves, like that left kick save he made last night. That was pretty. But even if he's not going to be a stud, franchise-type goalie for many years, I agree that he is good enough to get us by for a few years. But we'll only need him for that if we can find someone to take Huet.
