That has nothing to do with not having fighting. Right. I think because it was the olympics, none of the rough stuff got dirty. But you play games with that type of intensity in the NHL without fighting and someone will get hurt.
The Americans weren't favored to medal. The U.S. Hockey brains completely turned over the roster from the Tkachuk/Modano/Chelios crew to the Parise/Kane/Miller crew, and they played pretty damn well. This bodes well for 2014.
That was a weird celebration by Crosby. He scored and acted like he has every other time he has scored a goal. Then after a second or two he threw off his gloves and remembered he was supposed to go crazy.
The Olympics do have a way of making some new favorite players for me: Bobby Ryan, Parise and Miller, to start. I'm used to saying 4-on-4 favors our guys (the Hawks), but today, not so much.
He hasn't been lights-out or anything. Just not a lot of great chances on him. That last one by Rafalski might be as good as it gets the rest of the way.
