That's the good thing about this year, whatever happens there won't have to be a firesale. Saad stepped up this year. A new guy will need to step up next year. That's the only way it's going to work with so much high-priced talent on this team. We can't keep the $3-4 million role players. And that's okay as long as the younger guys do progress and the team continues to draft well. I look forward to seeing Teravainen in a few years.

I think it was still Pulford back then. If the question is should the Hawks give him $5 million per, no. They should not. My statement was that someone will.

I'd like to to be wrong about this. I'll cling to the hope that he likes winning in the playoffs and sees Chicago as a better place to do that then say Calgary. But money has a way of trumping that. Yeah, I'm hoping we can keep him, but realistically, I just can't see how that happens. They can do it but it would mean moving another part of the core. I think they could now trade Seabrook and or Bolland and use that money on Bickell. They're also saving money by letting Emery and Stalberg go. I don't believe anyone's offering $5 per for Bickell. You think Feaster or Tallon won't? I don't know if the salary cap floor is going down with the cap this summer, but I think he'll get 4/20.

Do you mean because of the elbow on Bolland? I doubt they'll do anything about that. Dreger tweeted this morning he doubts anything comes of it.
