  1. I’ve also wondered about Warren Brusstar.
  2. You are right. Would not have been able to tell you that he was on the 84 Cubs (obviously). Still think it’s too slender for him though.
  3. I don’t think he is thick enough to be Reuschel. I’m also pretty sure Rick never pitched in those jerseys.
  4. My first thought is Les Lancaster, but I’m not very confident.
  5. Well you read it correctly, obviously.
  6. I didn’t get that impression from the article at all. A possibility, perhaps, but I didn’t read it as almost certain. What parts of the story made you feel that way?
  7. The great Dewayne Staats on the call. I hated it when he left the Cubs.
  8. I agree with this but they didn’t “go through the whole process of making the trade.” They simply selected him in the Rule 5 draft. Teams return Rule 5 guys all the time.
  9. Too little for Johnstone.
  10. And bigger than that.
  11. No doubt in my mind.
  12. Why are so many people losing their horsefeathers over two horsefeathers games?
  13. The more I hear Alex Cohen, the less I like him. He’s got a lot of Chip Caray in him. Over reacts to too many things. Numerous times in these Tokyo games he’s talked about a guy having a chance for his biggest hit in a Cubs uniform. It’s still spring training.
  14. I also thought Szczur.
  15. I’d be shocked if it isn’t Ivan de Jesus. A part of two big Cubs trades. Acquired, along with Bill Buckner, for Rick Monday. And then, of course, sent out for Larry Bowa and Ryne Sandberg. When I worked in minor league baseball he was a roving instructor for the Dodgers. Whenever he was in town he’d find me so I could get him a coffee out of the concession stand. Nice guy and 24 year old me thought it was cool that I was getting coffee for Ivan de Jesus.
  16. I live in Indy. Was hoping for better than Odeyingbo. Hopefully he is ready to break out. But so far he’s been a guy that looks the part, but isn’t all that great.
  17. This isn’t Cohen, it’s Cole Wright.
  18. It appears as though the right arm patch is Harry, which would make it 1998.
  19. In addition to the guesses already made, which I think are all plausible, it could also be Tyler Houston.
  20. Jerry Mumphrey
  21. To me this seems like he doesn’t want to go to Detroit but will if they go to seven years. Which is highly unlikely, I’d think. Basically, we are going to the Cubs unless you offer seven years.
  22. I was trying to defend you, but never mind.
