    Other than the money can you convince me why Millwood or any that were on conteders would want to come to the Cubs? this is for anybody, not just for Hoops Dusty :roll:

    Huff is a player I really wanted for this past year and I still want him if we don't get giles. Being a cancer in that clubhouse might actually be a good thing.

    I really like Giles but he is going to be 35 when the season starts - I don't like the idea of giving him 10+ mil for more than 3 years. He does fit what we need perfectly though. If he was 32 I would be willing to break the bank for him.

    I think he could have gotten 3 18 mil pretty easily as a FA. I think this is a fantastic deal.

    I like Hendry but I if it meant a shift to an emphasis on OBP and an end to Dusty I would all for JP or Depo. I thought Hunsiker was almost a sure thing to go to TBay after the new owner takes over and gets rid of Lamar.

    I am torn on this issue. I can understand why they are not calling them up b/c they are out of contention and don't want to burn service time. I think Young's play warranted a callup and getting some ab's this year could help him prepare for next year. Upton I can understand not calling up b/c as good as he was offensively he really struggled defensively. What do you guys think? Were the DRays right is not calling them up in order to delay arbitration/fa or should they have called them up?

    It is nice to be able to use your farm system to trade for players but it is better to be able to use players from you farm system b/c it saves a lot of $$$ that can be spent elsewhere.

    I think he will be a Yank. He has always been a favorite of mine. He has all the tools but has never put them all together.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=250720120 Sounds like he has had a problem with his knee and b/c he is upset about something he is going to have surgery on it and miss the rest of the season even though he could continue to play with it. Frank Robinson said he doesn't know what the problem is and would not discuss it until after he speaks w/ Livan. I am guessing this will blow over but it would really help our WC chances if Livan goes thru with the surgery.

    Haha, Jon's such a sleazeball. I should really not talk. The other positive of knocking over a little kid to get a baseball is that you'll make every news reports in the country and be ripped to shreds by countless numbers of people. Some people love local celebrities. ENOUGH WITH BLAMING STEVE BARTMAN ALREADY!!!!!! ANYONE IN HIS POSITION WOULD HAVE DONE THE EXACT SAME THING, AND IF THEY SAY THEY WOULDN'T, THEY'RE LYING!!!!! I agree most casual fans would have done the same thing but that does not make it right. I know I would not have interfered and I bet a lot of other posters here would not have either. That being said Bartman was not the reason we lost.

    Few ??'s about Corey - I apologize if they have already been asked. If Corey is in the minors for the rest of the year is he still arbitration eligible? Is he still getting service time while in the minors? I hope he does well and is back up this year but if he continues to struggle can we keep him in the minors next year or would he have to clear waivers?
