  1. Meh. I'm not dwelling in any bogs, so it's always been easy to avoid White Sox fans.
  2. My God, they could lose three baseball games in a row. Losing 2 of 3 to the White Sox at home would be stupidly bad Did you block out the other games they lost to bad teams this season?
  3. Good rule but when he didn't even run on a fly ball 3 inches from the chalk I almost went over to the dark side. He did start running. It looked like the ball was out of play and the wind pushed it. Starling was 1/3 of the way to first when it landed. Man, the radio guys made it sound like he didn't even leave the box.
  4. Runners were first and third, right? So the runner on first would have only been given second? Yeeeeeesh.
  5. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how the hell that would have played out if it had been ruled fair. I was listening on the radio and I don't think they mentioned anything about it bouncing out of play.
  6. Never agree with Kaplan about anything.
  7. That face is awful.
  8. My God, they could lose three baseball games in a row.
  9. But if Hammel does end up missing significant time, I wonder if that pushes them to make a mega-deal for Hamels and Papelbon. I can't begin to imagine the package. But unless Theo pulls a Suge Knight on Amaro, there's no way it doesn't start with Schwarber and probably one of Torres or McKinney. There is absolutely no way in hell Hamels is landing a top 10 prospect and another top 30 guy. I swear every month the price people expect to pay goes up. Would you have expected a Top 5 prospect for Samardzjia? Hamels is on pace for another 6 WAR season, and it's a no doubt sellers market. Shark was younger and his combined remaining salary ended up being around $10 million less than what Hamels will make next season alone. Hamels is fantastic, but what the Phillies can expect to get in return is hugely mitigated by how much of his contract they're willing to pick up, if any. For a team to take on all of his money AND give up a top 10 prospect AND a top 30 is pretty ridiculous.
  10. Despite what he's done in the last 10 years, Jon Hamm is ultimately still just a sweaty, drunk, frat boy-[expletive] of a Cardinals fan.
  11. I'm the one (so far) that picked the "don't like but respect" option. "Hate but respect" would be more accurate; like the Packers, I loathe them, but wish my stupid, stupid teams could function and be run like them but with more money like they're supposed to.
  12. How the hell is Walken a Cubs fan? Didn't he grow up in Queens? What a lunatic.
  13. That's why I asked. I guess there is, then, cause I couldn't fall asleep for a good 90 minutes after that game. That [expletive] hurt. How do you guys just let it go like that? It stuck in my mind like a thorn. They're still in good shape and there were a lot of things to like even though they lost and the Cardinals seem to show real fear for once. This was basically a stay of execution where they get to nervously celebrate after seeing a glimpse into the terrible future that awaits them.
  14. took me maybe 7 minutes Yeah, I got ready for bed, started watching MST3K and was out in maybe 5 minutes.
  15. I hope Steve Stone sighs deeply in front of a mirror every day.
  16. Eddie Vedder is a good one. Billy Corgan is...questionable. I have no idea what Jack White is, but this photo is phenomenal: http://assets-s3.usmagazine.com/uploads/assets/articles/75635-jack-white-at-the-chicago-cubs-game-viral-picture-of-rock-star/1406129194_jack-white-article.jpg
  17. Too many people blend together for me.
  18. Stopgap to who? Yes, Gomez is going to cost more because he's younger and better, and the Cubs need a good CF. Parra is practically just a body.
  19. Getting Carlos Gomez would be pretty great. For what it would take to get them I would rather have Parra. He's been more productive this year anyway and we're talking about a rental. Who, Gerardo? Gomez seemingly has been better than him whether you go by Fangraphs or BR, he's younger and he's signed through next year.
  20. Ewwwww. Wishful thinking on my part. Guess I should have realized it would be weird as hell for Carlos Gomez to be making, like, $18 million a year right now.

  22. Well, look at that. Nevermind the guy has blown that cost out of the water or anything.
  23. Nice! Though the missing pictures kinda kills it.
  24. Hammel-less Rotation
