  1. Sadly, it's the best option right now if we're not tossing out a southpaw.
  2. Man, even Howry the the lethal robot got pumped up at the end there! Ted "The Ace of Killers" Lilly strikes again.
  3. Oh, NOW it's a strike. Thanks, jerkstore.
  4. That was the most terrifying strike 2 ever.
  5. Dempster wasn't warming up. More Howry? Marmol?
  6. I am so scared right now. Please settle me down, Demp. PLEASE.
  7. Damn, looks like Jason Lane hit one to the wall in Houston for the 3rd out.
  8. Me. Damn, poor Junior. I always feel sad when he gets hurt. I think the Cubs are gonna hit another DP out of sympathy.
  9. Oh, thank you for the crappy throw, old man.
  10. I really wish DeRosa was hitting 2nd throughout this series.
  11. I have complete faith in Lilly. The rest of the team...not so much.
  12. Soto, good. Theriot still bating 2nd, no good.
  13. Yeah, the amount of anger at the Astros as if it's "obvious" they're doing this to take out the Cubs is absurd. People are actually complaining about not seeing Woody-freakin'-Williams...do you REALLY think the Brewers wouldn't have smacked him around, too? And people are begrudging Oswalt and his wife for wanting to have their baby now? Christ, playoff chances do weird things to people. I suppose the Astros also just chose to barely score at all the last two games, too.
  14. I've always kinda had a soft spot in my heart for the Brewers (Not their fan base of course), they always seemed like even harder luck losers than the Cubs, and no one watched them. Their fans are a bunch of annoying whiners, and to top it off, most of them are Packers fans too. (Nothing against you Cubs fans that also root for the Packers, but thats a deadly combination right there) Their team this year pisses me off. But boy do I love those throwback uniforms. I wouldn't be terribly upset if they won the World Series, not nearly as much as those damned Redbirds. Not me. I seriously hate every single one of our opponents in the Central. No soft spot here... How long have the Brewers even been a division rival? If anything, Sox fans should dislike them more than anyone else. What does that matter? They are in the central - they are the enemy. I don't know, the Cardinals, Astros, Mets and White Sox are really the only teams that I actively root against if they end up having a shot. The other teams, even those in the Central, I don't really have anything against outside of wanting the Cubs to beat them. I look at the Reds and Pirates as some classic "legacy" teams with their long history without any real reason to "hate" them. They've never struck me as being real bitter rivals a la the Cards or White Sox. The Astros, however, just piss me off, and I'm not even sure why.
  15. Hey, kudos to them. If I was a manager and was playing a team as laughably bad as the Cubs, I'd do whatever I could to stack the decks. Fie on the Cubs for being so easily stymied.
  16. Doesn't Oswalt's wife, y'know, HAVING A BABY kind of deflate any "conspiracy theories?"
  17. It would be completely unprecedented if it was overturned, pine tar included.

  19. Did you also notice how he referred to Theriot as "our leadoff hitter." Technically he led off the inning, but I interpreted Lou's statment as Theriot being the team's leadoff guy. I wouldnt look to far into that. Soriano will be leading off I agree Soriano will still bat leadoff, but I read that Piniella still considers Theriot as more of his leadoff man even though he doesn't bat in that spot in the order. He really shouldn't bat 1st or 2nd, tonight's last AB aside.
