That's what he kept saying in the interview - that he got his hand stepped on. Could just be saying the 'right' thing.... Looking at the two angles, I really think he got his hands under Barrett's foot, either pushing his way under or as Barrett was moving his own foot back. Watch the backstop angle...Barrett's foot moves back over/along the plate. The 3rd base angle shows Holliday's fingers wedged against/under Barrett's shoe the entire time he is moving forward and past the plate. It's not clear, but putting the two angles together I think he would have at least gotten the plate with a few fingertips.
