I'd be all for anything that meant the Cubs wouldn't be beholden to crappy local politics. In short, I'm all for something that'll never happen. And no, I wouldn't miss the awful bars and shops at all.

Man, I finally have tickets to a game again, and what a match up. I'm 3-7 with Cubs games I've been to this year, but those 3 wins are the last 3 times I went. All of the losses came when the Cubs had lost less than a dozen games at home. What the hell.

Train FTW! Plus, no need for a DD. Yep driving to Wrigley is idiotic. And Wrigley - 24 Nobody's talking about driving to Wrigley as it is. No, people are talking about constructing parking garages so that they can drive for no apparent reason. Yes, if a new stadium was built somewhere else. I just said I'd welcome extra parking if it meant demolishing all the crappy bars, stores, and pain in the ass property around much of Wrigley. It'll never happen, but I'm sick of that neighborhood making the Cubs jump through hoops to make any kind of improvements or changes to the stadium or the schedule.

I'll take atmosphere over the mall anyday. Screw parking. Take public transportation. The last thing we need is more reason to drive places, idling in traffic for hours. Mallparks suck. Who is talking about a mallpark? All that land at where Cabrini Green will eventually not be, surrounded by a really cool upcoming neighborhood, closer to downtown with the skyline right behind the outfield. A) That would be nearly impossible. B) How would that be at all different from Wrigleyville? You think they are just going to magically create "cool" bars and restaurants that beat the ones near Wrigley? C) How is this going to solve the parking issue? There are a lot of nice bars on Divison street. More would appear. THere is enough land over there for parking too. Why would it be impossible? The large housing projects are being torn down...and rightly so. The skyline in the background with a bigger, better, brighter, Wrigley would be a dream come true. And NOT the Cell north. Gooney's right in that it is pretty much impossible given the politics in this town...it's just the hypothetical I wish could have happened. I'm not sure what he's trying to say with the bars. I said the neighborhood there is kinda cool now, in a funky wannabe boho sort of way, to contrast the negative image the neighborhood has had in the past. I don't care if they "beat" the ones around Wrigley, but it wouldn't be hard to do since Wrigleyville bars are awful, expensive frat fests.

I guess I'm one of the few who doesn't like Wrigleyville. Overpriced, mediocre or worse bars and restaurants, and a pain in the ass whenever the Cubs want to make any kind of changes to the schedule or the stadium. Screw Wrigleyville.

Seriously? Yes, seriously. The Cubs without Wrigley Field just wouldn't be the Cubs to me. Wow. Even more puzzling about this is the fact that you don't even live anywhere near Chicago... Even if you did, though, I still wouldn't get it. Same here. I root for the team, not Wrigley. The Cubs are the Cubs no matter where they play. I'd definitely like to see parts of Wrigley (scoreboard, beachers, biks, ivy, marquee sign) go to a new stadium if its ever built, but I'm all for the Cubs getting a nice new stadium with modern facilities and, especially, a retractable roof.

I want to take my son to at least one game at Wrigley, just so he can have that feeling that I had when my dad took me for my first game. In my dream world we'd get both. The Cubs would build a new stadium but Wrigley wouldn't be tore down. Instead it could become the defacto Chicago Cubs museum and otherwise be used by youth sports and/or college and high school teams. With the Cubs continuing to play a series or two per season there. But then I generally wake up and it's time for work. :( I'm probably one of the biggest fans of the Cubs getting a new ballpark (ideally where Cabrini Green is right now, with the skyline behind the outfield, and tons of parking), but I can't really see a situation where Wrigley would be torn down. It would be too profitable as a tourist attraction and its use for a variety of sporting events and concerts.

That report card is crap. I bet they give perfect games C's ](*,) Guh? They gave him an A-.

How terrifiying it must have been for Theriot with those two grounders in the 9th? If he screwed those up, there's a good chance he wouldn't have left the field alive/not digesting in Zambrano's gut.

Love Z and the no-no like they were my own child, but Kerry's game is one of the greaest things I'll ever see in baseball, period, no matter how long I live.

Let us not forget... GEOVANY SOTO. I missed the game due to work, and only caught a 90 second clip right after the game was done on the radio saying the Cub won and Z was the player of the game. I felt good enough with those bits of news until I got home and saw what happened. Wow. I feel warm and funny.

sarcasm? Lopez is garbage and should keep his mouth shut, but don't be fooled by '07 Lilly. His '08 numbers are much more indicative of what kind of pitcher he is. Lilly's a good pitcher, but I think he was referring to the fact that theodore likes to wear human skin as a blanket Lilly is just going to slowly appear out of the darkness of the back seat of Lopez' car as he's driving home tonight.
