  1. Fontenot! His throws from 3rd are actually looking good tonight, too.
  2. So had the double play replaced the strikeout as the out that Cubs fans want to kill the player (and themselves) over?
  3. I am convinced the the throw didn't go home due to Pudge shaking it off in terror. He was terrified of facing the bulldozer that is Lilly coming in for a close play.
  4. Even without the error Kosuke would have gotten the job done. Nice!
  5. Nevermind what I said about Pence: THAT was running like a spaz.
  6. Waaaaaugh-waaaaauuuuuugh-waaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh.
  7. Yeah, you rarely hinge your arguments on career numbers. What was I thinking?
  8. And what do you notice about his road numbers? that they've gotten better every year WHICH I TALKED ABOUT IN MY POST just like how i said holliday is probably like a .900 guy in a neutral park if you're not going to read my posts, then don't reply to them and say things that i've already explained. it's pretty simple Since you finally came to your senses I just wanted you to repeat it.
  9. Meet dextermorgan. nothing of substance yet again. not my fault you don't understand my posts. It's impossible for anyone here to not understand your posts since you pound the same stubbornly simplistic points regarding career numbers and park factors into the ground over and over again regardless of what anyone counters with.
  10. That's pretty ironic coming from you. I'm not sure what was "angry" about my post, but we'll just throw it on the heap of nonsense you've spewed in your short time here. But please, insist again that the people who realize that the playoffs are ultimately a crapshoot of timing and luck due to them (especially the first round) being short series are wrong and that there's a way to plan for playoff success outside of putting a team on the field designed to succeed over the course of 162 games. It's pretty simple...you ask people how they think a team can best win in the playoffs and they answer by saying one should put a quality team out there for the regular season. When the question is flipped to you you have nothing except rants about "choking under the pressure of the big lights of October" or similar garbage and no answers. Don't talk like you can create a team that's all but a playoff lock that will also succeed over the regular season when you know you can't back that ridiculous idea up at all.
  11. If Soriano goes on one of his hot streaks during October he could carry a team to a World Series title. hahaha Now you understand how almost everyone else responds to your ideas on posteseason success.
  12. Meet dextermorgan.
  13. And what do you notice about his road numbers?
  14. The reality is you have to work with what you have. Despite how this year has gone, with this division the Cubs are still potentially a player or 2 away from the a WS so long as they can get into the playoffs. Though I'm curious as to who you'd put into the lineup to better ensure a 1st round win seeing as creating a "1st round team," or even a playoffs team in general, seems like a fool's errand.
  15. Then they need to seriously and realistically re-evaluate what their goals are this season. Offense seems to be the main thing they need to improve for the rest of this season, though even if they do that there's still the bullpen to potentially blow too many games. It very well might come down that a big trade of any kind simply is not the the smart thing to do. I don't think a big trade is going to happen to help the offense. Fontenot has improved some lately and each day that goes by puts us closer to ARam's return. As long as the Cubs keep their head above .500 and no team starts running away with the NL Central, I think Hendry will wait it out and save his trade chips for Peavy. At this point I'd prefer to use the parts to get Peavy elsewhere.

  17. Then it might just have to be the big deal as opposed to going after someone like Peavy if the Cubs want any kind of a shot of winning it all this year.
  18. Where did I say I think he's a "badass .900+ OPS guy?" when we're talking about giving up a really good package of prospects and moving to soriano for a 3 month rental, don't you think it should be for a badass hitter? Not necessarily. It depends on what the package is. Given that he is likely a rental and he has vocalized his desire to play for a better team, a GM might not have to give up the world for him. If Hendry would have to seriously overpay, no, stay away, but if he can be reasonably had I would go for it. I think this team needs a serious offensive boost over the long haul more than anything else, especially given Bradley's likely missing more time and Aramis coming back from an injury like that. I think he's a very good hitter and would be a huge boost for this lineup. I think he's really the best hitter that's out there that the Cubs have a chance of getting and he's far better than the other stopgap names that aren't going to contribute nearly as much. I would happily take Soriano at 2nd if it meant having someone like Holliday in there every day alongside Bradley (when he can play) and Aramis (with whatever he can contribute).
  19. In the road numbers you just posted, you really don't see a clear trend? Where did I say I think he's a "badass .900+ OPS guy?" We're not talking about Coors numbers.
  20. So you don't see a trend in those numbers? You seem to place most of a player's worth in career averages uber alles.
  21. dexter hating something makes me automatically love it more than life itself.
