  1. What is the question? Who is the dog's ass that the sun is shining on right now? There we go. Indeed. I love what he's doing right now and I hope the team rides it out, but let's be realistic.
  2. He is beyond pathetic at the plate right now. He got a decent pitch to hit on a 3-1 count and gave it a ride.
  3. Fuld apparently wanted to show off his 'do.
  4. So what sparked the team in the first game of the series with the Pirates? The Pirates Are you saying Fuld has not positively impacted the team the last two games? The guy is playing smart, energetic baseball - something this team is in desperate need of. I'm not saying he can sustain this, but it *is* happening. On his own? No, I think it's incredibly unlikely that a mediocre career minor leaguer is "sparking" the whole team. He can certainly help and I hope he does well, but he's only one guy.

  6. Which likely means absolutely nothing.
  7. Fuld used his powers of grit and hustle to inspire Lee into hitting that HR. No, he simply worked the pitcher I believe 9 or 10 pitches and got on base to get the inning going. Good at bats are contagious, and Soriano has terrible AB's at the top of the lineup. Do you have any idea the averages of how many pitches each of the Cubs this season take per AB? FOX!
  8. OK, let's be realistic here. As crappy as Soriano has been for a while now he's already got 26 walks this year. He's only gotten more than 35 walks a season 3 times in his career, so he's on pace to draw almost as many walks as he did with that career 2006. You know you are wasting your time right? Just wanna put it out there for the folks who get it.

  10. What's a realistic alternative that keeps Fox up here? Soriano to the DL? Something involving Patton? Soriano was on TV saying he feels good, so I dont think there is any chance hes DL'd. I think the only way Fox gets to stay is if the Cubs finally cut their ties with Patton and the 12 pitchers. Fox has more chance of helping us the next 11 games against Milw, Atl, and Stl then Patton does. Our starting pitchers lead the majors in QS, and the bullpen has thrown either the least amount of innings in the majors or near the least. Carrying 12 pitchers is absurd when you need offense like this team does. Agreed. Here's hoping this plays out along these lines.

  12. I'm on the 12-game winning streak bandwagon.
  13. Relatively limited size, but given his splits and his age I really like the idea of platooning him with Fontenot.
  14. I submit that if the Cubs go on another winning streak like they did then, well, then the real hero is the hat. THE HAT IS THE SPARK.
  15. And thusly as one falls, so rises another to take his place.
  16. Gritty spark or sparkly grit?
  17. How dare you talk about the spark that way.
  18. What if both Brenly and Hollandsworth were up for manager? How would he choose?
  19. HOW DOES THIS GUY HAVE OVER A THOUSAND POSTS?!? What was I missing out on?!?
  20. WOW!! Just WOW! Did you watch the game tonight? IT WAS ONE GAME. How the hell was he the "spark" over, say, Lee? Or Fukudome? Or Wells? I've been wanting Soriano on the DL for weeks now because it seems like his knee is really effecting his game. I don't mind Fuld getting in there for some starts or as a late inning defensive replacement or pinch-runner, but even then I'd rather have Hoffpauir out there on a regular basis if Soriano is going to be sat for more games or DLed.
  21. Please, someone, link me to any threads this fellow has started.
  22. How has this guy been posting this long? How was I missing all of this gold before?
  23. Yeah, as good as Wells has been he's likely going to get the shaft due to lack of name recognition and the overemphasis on pitching wins.
