    Y'know, I really love this delicious steak in front of me, but I'd also like to see some hot dogs out there, too. And when the steak dries up (homers)? We starve again... awesome analogy. When we stop hitting, we won't score anymore... Yeah, the problem hasn't been getting guys on base...it's been getting them home. I don't really care how they do it so long as they do it.

    I don't agree with the booing, but he continues to be awful. He's making zero solid contact. I understand that, but for [expletive] sake, enjoy the damn moment. Hes hustling his ass off out there, and hes struggling, its not like hes trying to suck. If he does something stupid than boo, but damn lay off the booing a little bit after a grand slam and the Cubs are up 9-2. No kidding. It makes no sense to boo a guy for just making an out when the team is up 9-2.

    Not a little beer league, a lot. Defense up the middle is very important IMO. So is a SS with range and an arm, but that hasn't changed the fact that Theriot keeps trotting out there. Let me change it a little (thought the difference probably wouldn't be that much) - Any chance Soriano moves to 2nd and Fox sticks in left? If anything, Theriot's defensive issues at SS emphasize how bad it would be to couple them with Fox at 2nd or even Soriano at 2nd.

    Man, what a gift pitch. I'm not taking anything away from Lee, but to get that pitch after he basically fouled off the same one earlier in the AB...that guy deserved to get shelled.

    I can see why you'd want this to happen, but I can't see Fox being anywhere close to competent at 2B. It's just a different position. He's a corner player, period. Yeah, as pleasantly surprised as I've been by Fox at 3rd I do not want to witness him at 2nd. I just hope they find a way to keep him up so he can come off the bench and help spell Soriano and Aramis.

    Soto's been back for a about a month now. Do you think there's any truth to saying he's more relaxed now after the weed story broke? At least he doesn't have to stress about it anymore. I'd have to imagine that's a lot off his mind, though he was definitely hitting much better for at least a couple weeks before the story broke. I wonder if he just was able to get over the nagging little injuries bugging him in April, or maybe the WBC just threw him off.

    I dont think you can classify Fox as gritty can you? Fox is too fat for that group. Too much power, too. Hell, Theriot is in danger of de-gritting himself.

    Me too. I've wanted Soriano on the DL for a while now, but in the long run a healthy Soriano is far more valuable leading off and playing LF than Fuld. Hell, a Fox/Hoff platoon would be much more valuable down the line. In the meantime play Fuld while he's hot.

    He is beyond pathetic at the plate right now. He got a decent pitch to hit on a 3-1 count and gave it a ride. I know Im just disappointed in the season hes had. I thought hed be pretty decent More contact like that and there's a decent chance he can turn it around in a platoon with Baker.
