  1. Pretty much. He had Olsen open the second to last play and overthrew him. The game should have been over with a Bears win. You're reaching, Troll. Olsen wasn't open. A good throw there wins the game. He was open enough. Franchise QBs make that play. I am not a troll and you know it. Sometimes the truth hurts What's the truth?
  2. Cutler's got the Harden day/night split going.
  3. Pretty much. He had Olsen open the second to last play and overthrew him. The game should have been over with a Bears win. You have an odd idea of "open."
  4. right. i agree. think of my prediction as pujols lite. one season of pujols like numbers minus about 30-40 points of OBP and maybe a tad on slugging. One season. I think that is attainable. A "tad" less slugging? Look at their numbers to this point. What makes you think Votto's going to surge in slugging to or near Pujols' typical performances? This comparison makes no sense. A 30-40 point difference in OBP and Votto actually slugging like he does doesn't make him anything like Pujols or "Pujols lite."
  5. That happens all the time. Besides, the Roberts deal was killed by the shittiness of Angelos. It's not like those were two deals that we can look at as Hendry screwed up.
  6. Agreed. Granderson would be a very nice addition, but if he can be had it should be with players along the lines of Theriot, Marshall, Gorz and Marmol and not Castro or Vitters.
  7. I think you're drastically undervaluing Pujols. Votto definitely has talent, but you're setting the ceiling waaaaaaay too high for him.
  8. I think most people would be VERY surprised if he put together similar or better numbers to Pujols for any kind of extended period of time.
  9. Whut. there was something in MLBtraderumors yesterday with that quote from Jocketty about Votto other than that, i don't know what you are confused about Whether or not comparing Votto to Pujols was a joke.
  10. Theriot is a hole. He's not the gaping hole on the other side of 2nd, but he's a hole.
  11. "Blow him out?" I get what you're saying, but what a weird way to say it.
  12. Or where they completely missed Rose's obvious goaltending. Oh, wait, he's on the Bulls. It's laughable if you're suggesting the officiating in this game was even or if you're suggesting that NBA officiating isn't shady as all hell. It was generally a crappily called game. I'm sure the Bobcats weren't happy about Kirk getting to go to the line for getting fouled while dribbling. To assert that the bad calls were lopsided against the Bulls just doesn't seem very sound when you break it down. Both sides got shafted by bad calls.
  13. Or where they completely missed Rose's obvious goaltending. Oh, wait, he's on the Bulls.
  14. http://i38.tinypic.com/19p8vl.jpg Clearly. Which is why it took the refs like 5 minutes (when they're only allowed to take 2 at most) of watching to "figure it out." Totally clear. Again, that's the only angle where it shows it MIGHT be out of his hand (you can't tell for sure since the ball is blocking his fingers) while there are angles that show the ball is still touching his fingers without any obstruction. There was no unobstructed view where it could be claimed he had the ball away from his fingers. Why do you expect them to go with the ruling where there are no unobstructed views to back it up?
  15. They would have become worse with the 1st and 2nd round picks.
  16. Yeah, I don't see what is inconclusive. Upon replay, only one angle shows it might be inconclusive, and that's because the ball is blocking the view of his hand. The other angles where the hand isn't blocked shows his fingers still on the ball.
  17. How can you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the ball is in his hands in that photo (I'm pretty sure I know the angle and photo you are referring to)? It looks like it is, but there's another angle where it looks like it's out. So which one is right? The only one you can argue shows that it's out (from the front) looks that way because the ball is obscuring the end of his fingers on his right hand.
  18. Lord only knows.
  19. I'm sorry but this is a foolish thing to write. Managers, in any career, should not be in the habit of throwing current or former employees under the bus, especially not publicly. If Hendry were to come out and say "I made a huge mistake, signing Aaron Miles was a waste of resources that could have been better spent elsewhere, and I apologize to the fans" then he is effectively insulting Miles as a player and professional. He would be burning bridges with that player, the player's agent, other players represented by the agent, and potentially the player's peers from former or future teams (who may decide not to consider the Cubs organization based on it's management's actions and words). You think black athletes had the Reds high on their list 20 years ago? Hendry is a businessman and he isn't going to single out a bad contract because it singles out the athlete's performance and disrupts the baseball family. Even if his intention is to fault himself, he is still effectively saying in public 'that guy wasn't worth the money' which is easily interpreted by the player and his peers as 'that guy sucked.' The only public apology a man in his position will make is if he gets caught snorting coke off a prostitute or some other perceived debauchery. No kidding. Who are these mythical GM's out there "admit to a mistake" that some people seem to expect? A bad GM that tosses players under the bus like that would be even worse than a GM that signs a bad player to begin with.
  20. That's not the debate though. The debate is he better choice than say 140 or so games of Sam Fuld. The argument's been pretty clearly made that Fuld would likely be better, and that's not some kind of ringing endorsement of Fuld: that just means that Dye is THAT bad.
  21. It sure seems like the Bulls have spent the better part of the last half-decade paying for every call MJ got. No, it really doesn't. Tough to lose it on a call like that, but only one angle made it look like he might have gotten it off (from the front) and that was due to the ball obscuring his fingers. That top angle going frame by frame makes it pretty clear his fingertips were still on the ball when the buzzer sounded. It's obvious that the Bulls aren't "there" yet, but I'm really enjoying watching this team.
  22. I'm going to boil down my reaction to about 97% of the trade proposals on this site to the following: http://i40.tinypic.com/4h44kg.jpg
