  1. The Bulls and VDN didn't do themselves any favors, but the officiating towards the end of this game was appalling.
  2. Doesn't really help motivate the team when the manager just leaves the guy who blew inning out there seemingly out of spite. This was so avoidable. There's no excuse for leaving him out there after he walks the first two guys, and certainly no excuse to leave him out there once the bases were loaded.
  3. The biggest problem with the bullpen is Lou. He can't even manage a decent one to save his life, so it's just going to be even worse with one that you have to actually think about.
  4. "National League Central" might be the key phrase here.
  5. I often wonder if he buys in to half of the crap that he is obviously trying to "sell." Not to say he does it all the time, but it's certainly part of his job description. I don't know, one of the reasons I like Len is that he typically doesn't go out of his way to spin moves like that as much as he seemed to be doing when talking about Hill today.
  6. Len was basically trying to "sell" the idea of Hill getting more starts, and I hope to God that was just idle speculation as opposed to something he overheard from within the organization. I don't care how bad Geo slumps, Hill is still so much worse with the bat it's not even funny.
  7. Yeah, he should have killed that 1-0.
  8. Wow, I did not know Nady had such great numbers at the GAB.
  9. But Lou said he was gonna play guys who get results. :-)) The thing is there are literally no options to replace Theriot on the 25-man roster, Fontenot is not a SS. Theriot has nobody that is a potential risk to steal ab's from him as the roster stands right now. Then at least move him out of the slot that gets the most AB's.
  10. Jesus Christ, Lou, move Theriot out of the leadoff spot at least until he doesn't look horrible. Colvin + walks = thumbs up. Lets go, Rammy.
  11. Indeed. Anyone who complains about troughs apparently just likes hanging out in bathrooms or the lines for bathrooms.
  12. Jerks, that's who.
  13. Sure, he was a good player. I don't see why we have to pretend he was a force though. I'm not saying that you or anyone else has to in the sense of him being a truly exceptional player. The reality is, however, that he is a "force" in terms of how this team has been constructed. If he can't get back to his old (albeit streaky and obviously flawed) ways then this team is likely screwed unless Nady can rebound from his surgery and/or Colvin continues being a miracle. He's a "force" in that this team is likely sunk if he sucks.
  14. Those urinals are just taking up valuable trough space.
  15. Sitting Soto again is dumb unless he's hurt or sick.
  16. He was a "force" in that he was a critical part of both seasons.
  17. We've had plenty of pic-heavy threads before.
  18. PS - Thanks, LeBron.
  19. [expletive]. I was ready to have a breakdown with the Bulls missing 4 free throws in the last 26 seconds. Thank God they offset that with some fantastic defense. Epic work by Noah in the last 5 seconds.
