If they go through Philly you don't think that makes them the favorite? No, not at all. I wish I agreed. I have no idea how you can possibly think they're clear favorites over any of the three remaining teams in a short series. The Phillies have obvious flaws, so it's not like they are some unbeatable juggernaut.

Yes, no other obstacles...except for the two teams they'd have to win 8 games against. Might as well just give them the trophy now.

Their teams that aren't as good tend to achieve more. And they are on fire right now. The Phillies can't hit, Brewers can. Cards wont get past Milwaukee. They won a World Series with Jeff Suppan, Jeff Weaver, Anthony Reyes as their rotation. And yet, more often than not, the Cardinals do not win the WS.

God yes and it doesn't take an ounce of thought to get to that decision. I'd say we've been legit rivals with the Brewers for like 4 years. Yeah, I still have trouble mustering up the effort to look at the Brewers at rivals outside of the fact they technically play in the division. If they didn't have guys as easily hateable as Braun I doubt I'd rate them any higher than the Pirates or the Astros. [expletive], I hate the Reds more than the Brewers, and usually I forget the Reds even exist.

All you really need to do is steal a game or 2 from them at Miller. Fine, then just flat-out root for the Cardinals, you spineless [expletive]. For the record, they played 40 road games in the 2nd half. They went 24-16. 13-7 in the last 20.

Yeah, if the Rangers can give a comparable offer to what he's getting elsewhere there's little reason for him to jump ship if he's serious about the gun thing. It's pretty much downhill everywhere in that regard in almost every other major market that is going to come calling for him with huge offers.
