  1. I think the Indians have just as good of a shot at the division as they do the wildcard. And yes, we've had the talent all year, we just havn't had the offense until now.
  2. Most Valuable Player doesn't always coincide with best stats. And to tell you the truth, if a team doesn't make the playoffs, he isn't going to get as much attention. People are less prone to call someone valuable if their team doesn't make the playoffs, even if it isn't their fault.
  3. Yankees 74 57 -- .565 Indians 74 58 .5 .561 Angels 73 58 1 . 557 Twins 70 62 4.5 .530
  4. So I don't get your question. You're saying that clevelandindians.com IS or ISN'T redirecting? Isn't. They must have changed it. Indians.com used to never redirect to the site. Well, thanks for the help guys.
  5. Oh, well, the redirect must have run up? Because clevelandindians.com used to redirect the same as cubs.com does. =(
  6. Anyone know why mlb.com is hosting the site, and http://www.clevelandindians.com doesn't work?
  7. The standings have changed a bit, with the A's passing the Angels. Yankees 73 56 -- .566 Angels 73 57 .5 .562 Indians 73 58 1 .557 Twins 68 62 5.5 .523 Yankees: 10-3 win. A's: 10-3 win. Indians: 4-1 win. Angels: 2-1 loss. Twins: 2-1 loss.
  8. I remember when Jim Thome played 3rd. Given, his move to 1st was a direct result of the addition of Travis Fryman, but irregardless, it worked wonders for him.
  9. I think that the bottom line is that every now and then you should hit the enter button twice. See below. Hey, how are you?
  10. Sweet mother. Forgot about that one. Hey, Seitzer wasn't always horrible... :(
  11. Shapiro is different from Hart in that he hasn't made any ridiculous deals sending away quality talent for little in return. Also, coming from a Lorain county resident(well, until this summer), I've heard that the sellout streak is, how do you say it, less than legitimate. :) The tickets were bought regardless, haha. Yeah, the Indians had more talent than they knew what to do with. I mean, Albert Belle was let walk. Same with Manny Ramirez. Thome had to be let go because of the youth movement. Ditto with Vizquel. We traded Brian Giles for Ricardo Rincon. Richie Sexson for Jason Bere. We blew out Jaret Wright's arm in '97. Russel Branyon...well, that one isn't quite a disappointment. The list goes on...
  12. Cleveland, obviously. Shapiro is just a mini John Hart. Hart did the same thing that Shapiro is currently doing with the Indians, only in the early 90's. Cleveland lost its fan base, but it'll come back. The fan base tends to jump ship (except for Browns fans) when we start losing, but we still have that consecutive sellouts record. :-) Look at our lineup, and a majority of them are from our farm system, or were traded for when they were minor leaguers. I don't know about this year, but next year and the years following, I think we could make a real run. My only fear is that Shapiro will make the same mistake as Hart. Not quite enough pitching. We have enough pitching this year, it just depends on how many we can keep.
  13. Updated Standings: Yankees 72 56 -- .563 A's 72 56 -- .563 Indians 72 58 1 .554 Twins 68 61 4.5 .527
  14. Conan is really the only one I find funny, at all. Leno is just horrible. He tries to pound in jokes that aren't funny at all. He kind of reminds me of the show Seinfeld, which I also don't find funny.
  15. What are your predictions? Currently, the standings are: Yankees 71 56 -- .559 A's 71 56 -- .559 Indians 72 57 -- .558 Twins 67 61 4.5 .523 My opinion: Twins I think the twins may have run themself out of the race in the past two nights. All three of the leaders have won and the twins lost both nights. Not that it isn't possible, but I doubt the Twins will make a serious run. A's The A's got really hot really quick. However they cooled off really quick as well. Until they can regain some consistancy, they will have a tough time fending off the Yankees. I don't see them winning it, and only because their schedule down the stretch is much more difficult than that of either the Tribe or Yankees. Indians I'm rooting for them, and they have the 'bombers beat out on pitching, but I just don't know how long Hafner and Martinez can carry our offense. The pitching has been consistant all year, it just depends on how big the offense is coming down the stretch. Yankees Sadly, I'm predicting the Yankees to win the Wild Card if they don't catch Boston. If they do, then it'll be close between the Tribe and the Redsox, but I don't see New York catching the 'Sox. I think that in the end experience will once again win out and it'll get the Yankees in the playoffs, even with their sorry rotation. I don't see them making any major noise in the playoffs.
  16. A run scores. It isn't at the result of an error or double play. So, why not? Given, the run isn't literally 'batted' in. However, I have just always thought that it would be kind of a cool idea. A reward of sorts.
  17. I've thought for years that if someone steals home, they should be credited with an RBI. I don't know why exactly, I've just always thought it would makes sense. What do you think?
  18. Okay, that works. :)
  19. What team are you looking to talk about? All teams, actually. Although it would see I have a biased, now wouldn't it?
  20. Not sure if this is the correct forum... But this forum is for talk about the Cubs only. And while I realize that the whole point of the site is a dedication to the cubs, I was wondering if you could put maybe a forum that had subforums for any and all other MLB teams. I understand that most people probably wont be for this idea, but it's just an idea. Don't flame me too much. <3
  21. Haha, that is such a sweet bet. +5 respect points for Brad Penny. Anyway, yeah, that is ridiculous. But I so could've done it.
  22. Haha. "WEHLL, THEY MITE DU 2 GUD SO WEEL HAVVE TO W8 TILL NEHXT YEER."
  23. I agree. If it weren't the sox, I'd totally feel for him. =)
  24. Yea, Lee is clearly having a career year. But if perchance next year he would happen to have numbers around .300/35/120, then he will get paid major money. You may not want to pay him 75-100 mil, but I guarentee you someone will.
