  1. Kobe Bryant was too busy giving his team offensive rebounding opportunities.
  2. I've got a question for the SIU fans here. I'm a Creighton fan and was at the game last night and my friends and I were wondering how that atmosphere compared to the typical home game. The crowd was impressive, especially when SIU did anything. It was a good trip to Carbondale, other than the whole going 12 minutes without a bucket to end the game part (other than the worthless Millard three).
  3. Is that one run on 12 baserunners in 5 innings?
  4. Yeah after he got away with two ropes for outs, then the two big guys get hits, it might have been a good time to go to your pen. It's pretty obvious why he didn't go to the pen. Atlanta's bullpen is terrible. Look at Yates right now. I have no problem with Cox leaving in Hudson for as long as he did. Atlanta's bullpen may be terrible but Hudson had nothing left. Plus, I don't really have an explanation for the intentional walk to Jenkins.
  5. Cox did not manage that 8th inning well.
  6. For some reason they sent Fielder to second but by the time the throw got to second Fielder was about halfway there so Mench took off for home and was out pretty easily.
  7. how many catchers in MLB are considered an actual offensive threat? Pudge? Victor Martinez Jorge Posada Russell Martin Joe Mauer Brian McCann Kenji Johjima (to some extent now) Pudge But most teams have catchers who aren't a complete black hole on offense. i'll give you Mauer, but none of the others are offensive threats imho... Sori for 3! Hmmm. What constitutes an offensive threat in your book?
  8. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/06/sports/baseball/06pitcher.html?ei=5090&en=76546947bec6c57d&ex=1333512000&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=all
  9. Again from http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2685697 "Reports that the Cubs are making serious runs at Jason Schmidt and Barry Zito appear to be vastly overblown. Zito is barely on their radar screen. And Schmidt's price tag ($15 million a year for three to five years) has them looking for less expensive options -- with a list topped by Ted Lilly and Gil Meche." Thanks for the welcome guys. I've been reading the boards for a long time and always enjoy it here.
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2685697 • 12:15 p.m.: Ted Lilly is rumored to be signing with the Cubs. • 12:15 p.m.: The Cubs are dangling right fielder Jacque Jones. That's not a lot of information, but it's something.
