  1. Literally have never heard of this Joffrey goon and I follow the NBA p closely Is he good? Also McDermott is a pretty hard bust but no way he doesn't latch on somewhere and do damage in he right scheme
  2. Payne was in Joffreys Kingsguard right?
  3. I'm in the blow it up camp but if this FO is allowed to trade Butler that means they're going to steer at least the first couple years of the rebuild which is scary.
  4. i recently learned that verducci and @thekapman are both coming out with insider type books on the cubs rebuild and 2016 soon
  5. Heard on the radio yday that PFF thinks alshon is going to hit the open market but I can't find the article Thatd create a huge hole at WR
  6. Whoa Chicago unloads basketball superstar: https://nyti.ms/2jNmDsH
  7. He's a very good prospect, but you're basically hoping and praying he becomes Placido Polanco. That's no insult, Polanco was very good for a number of years, but that's not the hopes and dreams of someone in the Top 5 of all of baseball. He's high risk of being a second baseman, he had a .775 OPS at High A, and his K rate is high for someone who isn't going to slug like someone like Russell. You don't even really need something to collapse for Torres to be a non-descript major leaguer, just the attrition of his production at the 2 levels he needs to ascend through would do it. Is Law a ceiling fetishist as you mentioned? Because he's been indicating a very high ceiling on Torres basically ever since finishing up the season (Jeter comparisons, saying he has cornerstone/superstar potential, etc)
  8. I respect your stubborn desire to keep building a high floor low ceiling playoff team but the 2010 team had 4 players under contract when they added on: Rose, Noah, Deng, Taj, 3 of them future all-stars, all of them in their early to mid-20's. Ideally they would have added a star with the cap space that they had (enough for about 1.75 max contracts), but they were a team you could build a quasi contender around acquiring some good role players. This team is Jimmy Butler, a 35 year old version of Dwyane Wade, and a bunch of garbage (assuming Taj doesn't resign). McDermott is ok, Lopez is ok, you *might* get one good player out of Grant/Valentine/Portis, might. This isn't a team that needs a few pieces to be a contender. Maybe to be respectable 2nd round out in a weak conference, which I think you are on record saying you are ok with. But my point is, the 2010 offseason Bulls and the 2017 offseason Bulls are in completely different places. what is so watchable about this current iteration of the bulls anyway? butler's great but he's a throwback to the ISO ball era of Kobe and Jordan but not as good. wade is just old man game at this point. the rest of the team is garbage to middling. i don't view a bad team deliberately bottoming out as being inherently less entertaining than whatever it is the bulls are right now.
  9. I'd hire hinkie and have him do a teardown tbh
  10. I see that klaw still gets in inane fights with random people on twitter
  11. Kyle shanahan is a p badass playcaller
  12. Can someone smarter than me explain why that fumble recovery was brought out to the 20?
  13. http://politics.uchicago.edu/pages/axefiles cool interview with theo by david axelrod
  14. Paul Zipser is starting
  15. I've been listening to Carmen and Jurkos podcasts lately and have generally been entertained. Should I switch to Bernstein? I'm assuming they have a podcast.
  16. So Watson made every conceivable play you could want against a defense that will put 10+ guys in the NFL
  17. Good game but the pace of play is horsefeathering brutal
  18. I was going to say Entourage but looking at the wiki and there's some gaps that I haven't watched. I'm not much of a completist when it comes to TV so this really comes down to The Office or Lost. I absolutely wore out seasons 1-3 of The Office in college (I've probably watched every ep of seasons 2 and 3 20+ times). But I have only seen 95% of post season 5 or so one time because it got so bad. I liked the finale and Michael's 'last' episode a lot though. A few months ago I was flipping around and saw that Will Ferrell was actually in a couple of episodes that I had completely blocked from memory and holy horsefeathers it was bad. And I love Will Ferrell. Lost I mainly loved/liked most of the way through but in retrospect the last few seasons are pretty dumb and I don't think I'll ever go through the series again.

  20. bulls actually look like they're running what hoiberg wants
  21. clayton was predicting romo to the bears yesterday idk why he wouldn't go to denver or why they wouldn't be after him but apparently they're happy with siemian
  22. they have lots of cap space with cutler still under contract in that case i'd rather just keep cutler and pair him with a developmental draft pick and see if an opportunity to trade him arises. unless we could cut cutler, sign romo when FA opens, and then deal him to a team that is desperate when their starter goes down (ala bradford/minny)?
  23. what about holding onto cutler through training camp and waiting/hoping for an injury to a starting QB on a team with aspirations of competing and trading him off then? if it doesn't come you can still roll with cutler and a draft pick next year. does our allegedly favorable cap position come from cutting cutler at the start of the new NFL season? if we could offload him during training camp we could still use the savings on the inevitable training camp cap casualties no?
  24. WEEEEEEEEEEE
  25. No thanks. Garoppolo plz we can punt til next year and draft sam darnold who is the lovechild of roethlisberger and favre
