  1. All numbers put up under Nellie ball need to be taken with a huge grain of salt, IMO. You look at their roster and think they should be good because they have a number of effective players (fantasy wise) but they're a horribly constructed team full of swingmen, combo guards, and tweener forwards. The Warriors basically answer the question of what would happen if you took the best possible pick up basketball team and unleashed them on the NBA.
  2. I don't see any offensive solutions for this team. The lack of three point shooting is glaring. There aren't any lanes for Rose to drive through with the defense sagging in. There's way too much pick and roll and not enough Rose in isolation (which admittedly would be hard to run when you have NO floor spacers that can shoot). Hinrich and Salmons can't bury a decent look if their lives depended on it.
  3. And by threatening on not putting up 100 I meant 90. 29 points in the second half. 11 in the 4th quarter. They scored ONE POINT in the last 6:24 of the game. Salmons and Hinrich were a combined 4/21 from the floor. How the [expletive] do you score 60 points in the first half and not even hit 90 for the game?!?! Brutal.
  4. This team is threatening on not putting up 100 on a horrible Raptors defense after scoring 60 in the first half.
  5. I love how Vinny pulls Rose for 11 uninterrupted minutes of Hinrich and Pargo.
  6. The overhead camera angle was the only conclusive shot but I thought it was conclusive nonetheless.
  7. Although if home town cooking ever counted for anything it would've been right there. That was as close as the Devin Harris buzzer beater from last year.
  8. UGH Sadly it was the right call. God damn, that was such a tease.
  9. Lu's done an amazing job Ding Melo.
  10. Brad Miller is contractually obligated to attempt one bounce pass a game that has to go through 4 defenders and has zero chance of being successfully completed
  11. This team can't get a decent look on offense with Kirk running the point. I have no idea why Vinny insists on yanking Rose halfway through the first quarter and giving Hinrich 10 minutes of burn but he does it every game.
  12. I'm so confused by defensive coordinators disguising coverages and giving a variety of different combinations of down linemen and linebackers. I'm more used to Lovie running the same ineffective blitz packages and cover 2s.
  13. In terms of getting downhill and being a violent runner at the 2nd level Mendenhall is pretty close to Peterson. He's a sick talent.
  14. Freeman's got some skills.
  15. We seriously gave up a 3rd and 25?
  16. It's telling of one thing: all those teams show up in the Super Bowl or close much more consistently than the Bears. When the Bears are winners there's plenty of support. But too often they are a disappointment and that's your reason why other teams have stronger brands. Yeah, that plays a part obviously. Even in 2006 though I honestly thought the Bears were kind of a nondescript franchise to the average NFL fan. The Bears are in the top 10 in many of the valuation metrics but they're not where you'd expect the team in the biggest unshared NFL market to be.
  17. I mean, the Lions went 0-16 last year. yeah, but detroit has other sports. They also have Detroit.
  18. I mean, the Lions went 0-16 last year.
  19. Here's a question for you Chicago guys: Do you guys get the sense that the Bears are not viewed as a flagship organization outside of the Chicago area? Meaning, do you think their national presence (for lack of a better word) is commensurate with the city they play in, the history of the team, and the local support? I think it's pretty telling of the ownership that the Bears are not put on the same level as the Giants, Steelers, Cowboys, Redskins, Patriots, Packers, etc. as football brands.
  20. Fox just switched to the GB/TB game and I'm not even annoyed by it. I think this is the earliest I've seen them ever switch coverage though.
  21. Didn't see the interview or whatever, what did he do/say? I didn't see it, I just heard the sideline reporter talk about it. He just said basically that it was 'ridiculous' that he would get ejected for something like that and was extremely disapointed that it happened. So wait, he was upset that the ref ejected him for punching another guy in the face? Or it's ridiculous that Harris would do something like that? He was "pissed" (come on it's Lovie) that Harris would do something so stupid.
  22. The Bears ownership really won't go after a top flight coach/eat Lovie's contract because of money? That's depressing.
  23. Cutler deserves very little blame for this catastrophe of a football team, or for what is happening in this game. Sure. But it doesn't mean I'm wrong.
  24. Cutler needs to pick up some yards on 2nd and 20 and give himself 3rd and somewhat managable instead of throwing it into quintuple coverage. He could've run for some yardage.
