first of all, if the bears' line was so terrible, the saints shouldn't have needed to blitz. i read somewhere that gregg williams's defense actually rushes 3 more than any defense in the nfl. second of all, blitzing when you're up a bajillion points in the 4th is just a bitch move and you're trying to hurt people. that's copletely ignoring the fact that bennett was hit in the chest by a helmet and cutler was kicked in the head. The Saints blitzed more than any other team in football last year. yes? i don't see how that stops them from rushing 3 more than any other team. I would be very curious to see your arithmetic on how a defense could lead the league in rushing 3 and blitzing at the same time. Edit: That's strange. I'm assuming the Bobcats are bottoming out now. They'll get better by accident if nothing else by drafting high until that pick is unprotected. I'd give it up for an instant upgrade.

I'll go with multiple 1st round picks being stripped as my predicted punishment. The Pats lost one first rounder for SpyGate which is probably worse in a certain way but with the league's focus on player safety they'll throw the (relative) book at the Saints.

I wouldn't view it as an either/or with Rip if we got Allen. That'd be a good 1-2 punch at SG. Both can guard Wade as well as can be expected. And Allen is definitely an upgrade on Korver in every area including defense.

I'd rather have Allen starting and let Rip give the 2nd unit some punch. Either way he's wayyyy better than Korver.

I love how Popovich has basically turned the Spurs from a grind you down and beat you with Timmy team into the effective pro version of a John Beilien team. Amazing coach. The only active one better than Thibs imo.

i was just about to post this. i hope that nelson kid doesn't get drafted and has to live in modesto forever. and howland is one weird [expletive]. i can't imagine that he'll be there much longer, that program needs an identity facelift. I'd really rather not compete with UCLA for a coach. The ideal time to compete with a coach is if UCLA is in a scandal situation. They'll hire a Karl Dorrell-type who is clean, winning be damned. That said, I don't expect Howland to go anywhere. The amazing thing in all this is that Guerrero still has a job.
