  1. Can't describe it, the movies are UHF and The Gods Must Be Crazy.... So we're Stanley Spadowski and the Yankees are the killer bottle from space. I wanted someone to be the Wheel of Fish guy.
  2. I do too. It's the perfect mix- Two giant makeup leader types, one cocky as hell [expletive] who's awesome, a dude that chases people with bats, and a jolly, fat guy that everyone loves. Vogelbach? Meh. Plus I don't think he's jolly at all. But werd to the rest of that. DH. The video of Vogelbach taking BP, getting underneath one, hitting himself in the helmet with his bat, shaking it off, and saying "[expletive] me in the ass" endeared him to me forever.

  5. Yankees with a dire need and Dodgers with [expletive] you money=No chance for anyone else. Ya know...we kind of have a dire need too, but...you know. This is Gordon Gecko trying to outbuy Billy Ray Valentine-pre switch. More like Gordon Gecko not even acknowledging Louis Winthorpe III while Louis was just shoving salmon in his pants. Damn, you nailed it.

  8. Of course the Mets won't give us a Wheeler/Syndergaard type package, nor would anyone else. The point I'm trying to make is you might as well keep him. I'll gamble he bounces back now that they're going to leave him alone and quit trying to turn him into something he's not. Is that a longterm 3 WAR type? Better ? No idea, but I expect him to be a very solid player and I'm not jumping the gun on trading him, even if he's got some stats that may indicate true regression. He's young enough and talented enough to fix them.
  9. For Castro? From the Mets, give me Wheeler AND Syndergaard. If Rafael Montero is the going rate for Starlin, there's no way in hell we trade him.
  10. Corey Hart and Chris Young are going to get one year contracts for 7-10 mill apiece.
  11. I hope it's the Royals too, but I do like Ventura more than Zimmer, size be damned. Ventura and Duffy would probably be my favorite package not involving Bradley or Taillon.
  12. There's plenty. Kansas City- Zimmer, Ventura, Duffy, Almonte Pittsburgh-Taillon, Kingham, Heredia, Glasnow Arizona-Bradley, Skaggs, Delgado, Holmberg, Chafin Baltimore-Bundy, Gausman, Rodriguez Washington-Cole, Giolito, Karns, Solis Bradley isn't happening, Taillon may not be realistic either. But each of those teams can certainly build a package without them.
  13. Yeah, he had a shoulder issue. He's pitching in the AFL now.
  14. [expletive]. Yeah, he's certainly up on the wish list. He'd be 3 for me though, behind Sanchez and Hutchison(not a rookie anyway)
  15. Didn't Osuna just have or is supposed to have TJS? Sanchez is a solid prospect, but Law or Parks recently mentioned he's developed a bad follow through that is keeping his ball straighter. Drabek has always appeared to be a guy this FO has coveted. Or at least he's been mentioned plenty in past trade rumors involving the two teams. I've always liked Drew Hutchison myself, he's pitching again, recovering from TJS as well. Cardona has upside, Nolin is a slightly better Rusin....Stilson looks like a very solid bullpen arm, although unless he's a 3rd/4th piece, I'm not all that interested. Alberto Tirado is an interesting lower level, upside arm. Damn, forgot about Daniel Norris....He'd give the system a hard throwing lefty, something that's lacking. Very solid upside, although control issues and his delivery don't make him THAT likely to get there. Give me Sanchez and Hutchison and I'm happy. Give me one of them, Drabek, Norris, and Stilson and I'm happy enough.
  16. The question is what would lead to more eyeballs, a #1 ranking or something outside the top 5? Give it a 6 and some people will freak the F out. Oh yeah, a 6 would definitely cause a freak out.
  17. True, but that's likely all we'll get from BA. They won't have Alcantara in their top 100. PJ is a 50/50 guess. They'll have Correa top 5, Springer and Appel top 25, McCullers and Foltynewicz top 50, Singleton and Ruiz as definite top 100's, and Santana and DeShields in the same boat as Pierce is for us. That's what I've figured based on their chats and Twitter replies. I'm with Kyle-I'll be surprised if we're not 1st for someone.
  18. Yeah, but he backed off that a bit since. I remember reading from one of the BA guys that as many as 9 Astros may make their top 100. And Correa as a top 5 type, with Springer and Appel as top 25's, will help cancel out our big 4. Their depth(according to BA anyway) likely puts them 1st in their rankings.
  19. As far as BA goes, I think they'll have Houston with the top system.
  20. Nah, I'm not basing it off a game. I'm basing it off a few years. Can this team win a title if they stay healthy? Sure. I don 't consider it likely and I think any sort of multiple title runs are almost non existent as constituted. Mirotic needs to be a very solid starter/possible All Star and a FA or trade needs to bring in a solid 2/3, that's an upgrade from Deng for me to change my mind.
  21. Bryant doing Bryant things.
  22. I honestly think the Bulls championship hopes for the future are directly tied to Mirotic. With their cap situation, you're going to have Rose and Noah taking up around 30 mill. Jimmy is a great asset for another year or two, then he'll get expensive himself. Taj is a very nice player, but in a star-driven league, his 8 mill could definitely be used in a more efficient manner. It looks to me like there is longterm room for one big contract and it needs to happen at the deadline or over the offseason somehow. If either Deng or Boozer are retained, is there a chance? Sure, but this has always felt and continued to feel like we're the mid to late 90's Knicks- Worrisome to play against, but a team that without a bit of luck , just isn't going to get over the hump.
  23. Definite QO- McCann, Kendrys Morales(only because they've already said so), Cano, Ellsbury, Choo, Jimenez, Kuroda, Ervin Santana Likely QO- Napoli, Drew, Granderson, Beltran Possible QO- Nelson Cruz I've seen stranger things if they were offered the QO- Saltalamacchia, Omar Infante, Juan Uribe, Bronson Arroyo, AJ Burnett, Haren
  24. how did i miss that he was basically the best pitcher in baseball, post-ASB?? Indians are sounding sure to give him the QO, FG crowd thinks he goes 4/49; that'd be tempting if we miss on Tanaka I'm thinking Ubaldo gets 5/75 or so in this market.
