  2. I agree it is likely to go up but don't put to much thought into it. How many Braves did the Cubs strike out Sunday? And how many runs did they give up? Things like baserunners and opponents average are cool but I don't care about K's as long as they get outs. I'll take a one pitch at bat where a batter pops out all day compared to a six pitch strike out.

  4. Neither will be as good as this year, but they will both have better than average seasons next year.
  5. that pic is great uber. mind if i rip it off?
  6. I would hope that is in the past as is Zambrano's hitting Edmonds 2 times. It has been a long time since the Cubs and Cardinals had a heated moment and I hope it stays that way. Zambrano deserved what he got as far as the ejection, but he had no reason to throw at Edmonds, but if I was a Cards fan I'd want one of my pitchers to throw at Z. The Cubs deserve their fair of the blame as well in the past, right now, Morris does. I never understood why a pitcher would throw at a hitter that wasn't a pitcher, despite being guilty of it myself. I hope the Cubs do something to bring back some life, it if takes putting a couple of Cards on the ground, so be it. If the standings don't motivate the Cubs, they have to find a way to do it. I would rather they win, which they did last year, while Z and Hawkins blew up.
  7. Chicago Cubs - 16 games out of first place Chicago Cubs - 3 Games under .500 and falling (54-57) I also like how he calls these guys bums and mediocre minor leaguers. If youre so good why aren't you playing center field for the cubs? He has three total posts. Anyone think he'll get to four. I don't. He does have a point. Although pigs will fly if LaRussa can keep this up far into the playoffs. If pigs fly if TLR does this deep into the playoffs then what will happen if Baker manages to end the season with a winning record. Possibly a frozen hell?
  8. that would be nice but I don't think Marquis would clear waivers.
  9. Other than Marquis' performance/attitude of course. Yeah, other than that. :D Even though I would be excited to watch him pitch, why start his arbitration clock on just a spot start unless it is an audition. If not I think its a bad move by the Cards.
  10. I watched him pitch a late spring training game this year against the Astros on the Astros TV station and they were raving about him. I got a feeling this may be an audition for Marquis' spot in the rotation. I of course have nothing to back that up.
  11. Yes the Cards have had a stretch this season of 3-4 in 7 games. The first 7 games of the season. They may have had a similar stretch agian but I only looked till I found one example.
