oh brother. this guy has a future in broadcasting for sure. Truffle have you ever played ball before? These ball players see each other more than they see their families. Traveling together, eating together, and hell they even shower together. When you compete in a team sport against other teams you bond together. It sort of like having a little brother...you can beat the hell out him anytime but by god if someone else lays a hand on him all sorts of hell will get unleashed.

I started watching them in the 70's as a kid. So what have been the shining moments? 1984, 1989, 2003, all major disappointments...along with a bunch of horrible years. Being a Cubs fan is not easy. Also became a fan in the 70's. Dave Kingman, Manny Trillo, Bill Buckner, Rick Reuschel, Bruce Sutter and Ivan DeJesus along with HEY HEY from Brickhouse sucked me into being a cub fan. My first trip to Wrigley(from Iowa) the Cubs scored 1 run in 27 innings in a 3 game series with Dave Winfield led Padres in those god awful uniforms. Some of the low points for me at least were the meltdown in 84, earth quake series San Fran 98, and of course the 2003 implosion.

This can't happen fast enough for me. Sec Taylor is about a mile from my house and I won't run down there for a game if he is around. On the local Des Moines TV station (13) he made a snide comment before he went off on twitter. Part of me wishes that they would demote him several levels but I'm not sure that is wise as you don't want him "infecting" the lower ranks. Who was the director of scouting with the rockies when they drafted this guy 10th overall?

With the additon of Andrew Jones to the Dodger outfield along with limitations of slappy's contract could Andre Ethier be availible? Andre's overall numbers were good last year but his 'away' splits were especially good. What would it take to get this done? LA is shopping for a starter - Maybe the Cubs should get involved in a three way with LA and Baltimore. Instead of targeting Baltimore's Brian Roberts target Ethier from LA .... facilitate Bedard to LA by shipping prospects to Baltimore Would rather see Ethier in RF than Roberts @ 2B forcing DeRosa to super sub role. Win win situation for all three teams.
