  1. Looking like a dweeb: Yelich
  2. I'm not great at math, but is it even possible for a swing in batting average that great at this point in the season? Let's assume Javy plays 10 of the remaining 11 games, and gets an average of 4 PA per game, so 40 PA. Given his 5% walk rate, let's say 38 AB. To raise his BA to .315, he'd need to go 23 for 38. To raise it to .320, he'd need to go 28 for 38.
  3. Seattle had 5+ years as an elite unit with Sherman/Thomas/Chancellor/Wagner and that's nearly the quality you're lining up with Mack/Smith/Amos/Floyd/Hicks/Goldman/Fuller also, PFF fwiw:
  4. i will absolutely take the over on that defense being elite for just 2 years
  5. This. A horsefeathers coaching staff last year plus people are drooling over Mahomes. Give it 8 games at least, especially with a new coaching staff. This team is a 10-6 team. 8 games at least? This isn't baseball. By week 8 your fate can be decided. This team can't afford a guy who can't make throws. the Bears might have the 2nd? best defense in the league; they of anybody actually can basically afford it
  6. we do?
  7. pretty sweet play design/execution on that one
  8. bat literally anybody there that can manage a flyball or dribbler or bunt or any one of a hundred other positive results to drive in the run and it becomes a super easy save situation anyway
  9. Matt Patricia having a real Gob Bluth moment tonight
  10. he'll always have that tattoo to remind him of his roots
  11. P that isn't Lester, specifically, Montgomery
  12. franchise tag values: he caught 85 passes which would also have put him in top 10 for WR; he & his agent probably feels the franchise cap number for RB doesn't nearly account for his total offensive production and they'd be right to think so him adding another 400 touches this season at a relative pittance doesn't even help his value at all, regardless of his output
  13. i'm pretty sure WAR doesn't credit him with the extra bases he gains on errors like that, and it's a common enough occurrence that Len always laughs them off as 'another El Mago moment'; add that to relay throws, CS tags, your backup SS being a real player and not Eric Sogard and there's a ton of intangible value that won't help him in the fWAR rankings but he's still right at the top there anyway Petriello makes a case for Baez deserving extra credit for his unusual versatility here though https://www.mlb.com/news/javier-baez-adds-elite-versatility-to-mvp-case/c-293303568
  14. i became a big fan of Mack the first time i heard about this anecdote (SIAP)
  15. i would take Burton over Graham and PFF does not think highly of GB's secondary also
  16. Javy is the current rightful MVP, but this is a real hoot: ah, that elusive club...
  17. James Daniels will have a rough go of it if several interior lineman get dinged up
  18. Michigan fans seeing why Patterson actually transferred and it wasn't because he wanted to play in a bowl this year. He was going to be the 2nd string QB at Ole Miss. He's not that good. He didn’t look that bad to me. He was constantly under pressure and was on the run a lot. I thought he tucked it too early a few times, lost Michigan 3 points by taking a 17 yard sack, the INT was whatever but the fumble shouldn’t have happened. I hear that’s a problem he had last year. Anyways NDs defense might be stout who knows but it was really defensive mistakes that killed Michigan. Not able to contain winovich, penalties on 3rd downs, 3rd down conversions in general, didn’t matter if it was 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 18, just couldn’t get off the field. Oh well have several more shots to win “big games” or if they lose them all as usual cement themselves as a team that never ever wins any game of any importance he more or less looked fine, but it's hard to judge with the worst tackle play conceivable, not that the interior was any great shakes either how did that not show itself in practice when these guys face the best DEs in the nation
  19. Aramis was great enough for him.
  20. Zach Smith's attorney
