  1. (for me) hitting in the FSL checks off a big uncertainty for a prospect, and Torres has a lot to do to even get to that point; mostly a personal bias, though wouldn't surprise me too much to see McKinney & Torres showing up in top-50 lists a year from now
  2. oh hey our JV squad just beat the 12th-best team in the country, wire to wire
  3. now let's watch one basketball minute transpire in 25 minutes
  4. DAGGER
  5. i can't vote on mobile, but i go McKinney here; almost crafted an argument for him over Schwarbs
  6. i think i remember Edmonton playing conservative trap in OT to get to the shootout where their handsy guys excelled
  7. does Rizzo have cerebral palsy
  8. 91 and i missed a lot of really blindingly obvious ones i think a few more minutes and i'd have settled on several of these also, i really expected big things from (but forgot here)
  9. Russell i think i rate Bryant, Russell, Buxton, Soler the top four in baseball, in that order
  10. if these things all happen, we win like 107 games
  11. career year for Fowler
  12. Pat Burrell, too it's hard to identify a perfect comp, but Bay used the whole field while Burrell was mostly dead-pull so i went with him; Bryant's OF defense is a bit of an unknown anyway
  13. numbers relative to league; Troy had a 124 OPS+ ages 22-31, with years of 138 and 150 thrown in there 150 OPS+ is 2014 Edwin Encarnacion offense- as a decent 3B, that's an MVP winner 138 OPS+ is 2014 Nelson Cruz... also, he averaged 3.9 bWAR (133 G) during that time and 4.9 bWAR per 650 PA
  14. i voted for him in this poll
  15. best / likely / worst -case Bryant B: Troy Glaus/Jesse Barfield L: Jason Bay W: Corey Hart Russell B: Barry Larkin L: JJ Hardy W: Alex (S) Gonzalez Jorge Soler B: Andre Dawson L: Jermaine Dye W: Austin Kearns
  16. i'm confident we will, oddly enough, in large part because of the utility he'll have for Maddon in non-pitching roles
  17. they're essentially tied, but i'll go Bryant over Russell on the slim chance he becomes 3B Giancarlo
  18. KATOH Projections for the Top 200 Prospects http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/katoh-projections-for-the-top-200-prospects/ pretty cool to read this earlier post of his, especially the historical stuff: http://www.hardballtimes.com/katoh-forecasting-a-hitters-major-league-performance-with-minor-league-stats/ also has KATOH WAR thru age 28 for Alcantara: 12.3 Baez: 7.8 Hendricks: 5.1
  19. Lindor 14th really stands out, as does Jon Gray 28th Alex Jackson & Schwarber back-to-back
  20. Rivals Is Scouting Sixth Grade Football Players Now http://thebiglead.com/2015/02/16/rivals-is-scouting-sixth-grade-football-players-now/
  21. amazing finish to Bruins-Flames: OT 4:58: Goal scored by T.J. Brodie(Backhand 30 ft) assisted by Mark Giordano and Sean Monahan >BOS 3, CGY 4 @NHLBruins #NHLBruins fall to Flames 4-3 as OT winds down. Shot from T.J. Brodie pops off Rask's glove, on top of the net, off his back & into the net. http://i.imgur.com/ZcM2rZW.gif
  22. my belief for likelihood of Baez career outcomes: Alfonso Soriano (5%) Ian Desmond (10%) Danny Espinosa (50%) Brandon Wood (35%)
  23. i've read our strength of schedule should help quite a bit maybe it won't, but i'm not really stressing out over it
  24. but congrats at barely overcoming an offense centered around a short unathletic point guard and short unathletic center a statement win if there ever were one
