I agree that he should have retired as an "idol." It seems whenever someone mentions the Cubs to him now he gets miserable & snappy. & we all know his homers turned to strikeouts in a heartbeat. I like Burnitz, he's done better than I'd imagined when I heard he was the replacment. He may not be a hot shot at the plate all the time, but his fielding makes up for it, I think. -
With the bottom of the ninth, game tied at one.. I can only think of 2 recent games where we came close to a rally in the ninth. As much as it hurts to say, it always seems like we just give up if we don't have the lead in the 8th. =\ & if we do rally, the Cubs on base always manage to die there. Not only the Cards, but the white sox too- They seem to consistantly get the leadoff man on. It's mind boggling sometimes to a cubs fan..
