  1. Just for the record, you're the freaking devil. :x Heh...the Card fan calls the Cub fan "the devil"...not because he's rooting for the Cubs, but because he's rooting for the Patriots...odd huh? :) Let me guess, you're a Laker fan.

  3. jax still in it... wow
  4. Knight jump queen? http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=1432823&type=page2Story
  5. LaVar graduated from Penn State! Did he? Oh, well in that case... I hate it when they inteview people that don't know how to speak. I remember MNF went to his home and he had a chess room. No joke!
  6. Jacksonville is in major trouble.
  7. Considering what you've seen so far who would you rather have the Bears play?
  8. He's boycotting because the commentary is so bad. It's about damn time somebody took a stand!
  9. Why isn't Portis playing?
  10. ADF for me. Because of their K/9 I would guess A & F are power pitchers who give up a lot of homeruns.
  11. Bruce stated he didn't think the Cubs org felt Nefei was an everyday player. I bet Hendry thinks the only true hole for the Cubs right now is at 2B or SS, hence miggy interest.
  12. .291/.388/.569 in AAA last year. He's ready.
  13. I think it'll also effect his opinion of playing in Wrigley.
  14. Did the Cubs organization really treat Corey that poorly? I don't think they did...
  15. But would still be the smartest thing they could do. Actually trading for Prior would  I don't know about that. Trading for Prior would be great if they could keep him for a very long time. But I could easily see Prior walking away from there, as their owner has not shown a willingness to go top dollar on prime guys, or pitchers for that matter. And, in 2006, the O's plus Prior and minus Tejada still aren't any good. That's probably still true in 2007. So they would most likely have to build a solid team around Prior by 2008 to get any value out of the deal (and have less money to pay for it since Prior would be making a heck of a lot more than all the prospects they would get). The smartest thing would be to somehow get Prior and a few prospects for Tejada, but I don't like to think of that possibility. If they have the possiblity of getting a guy like Prior for 3 years than they should do it. Heck I'd take Prior over the entire Cubs farm system including Hill, Cedeno and Murton. Besides, I'm sure the O's think they will be much better team in 3 years and Prior will want to stay. edit - That said, I think the O's will still suck in 3 years

  17. Pie is a very nice prospect but not an elite one - I read BA will rank him somewhere in the top 30-50 MLB prospects. There is no way he would be the centerpiece for Tejada, the O's could do much better. I'm sure it's more of a Prior + Hill + Pie for Tejada + Bedard type deal Kaplan is refering to. Trading Tejada for just prospects just runs counter to everything the O's have stated.
  18. Crap. Why not keep him on the bench, spot him into action once in a while to give Murton a break against some right handers, take a chance that he'll perform well and build his value up ahead of the trade deadline? It would be inhuman to keep Corey as a Cub, he was the "fan's" whipping boy last year. IMO this is one of those cases where you can't look at a player like an asset in a portfolio.
  19. Most became Cubs fans because of WGN which the Sox are on now. I didn't know the Sox are shown on so many WGN games, but I'd like to point out that some/many/all? Sox WGN games are not nationally televised. While visiting friends around rural Illinois, I noticed that more than one Sox WGN game wasn't broadcasted on WGN outside of the Chicagoland area. Therefore, the Sox can't grow that national fanbase that the Cubs have earned from nationally televised WGN games. Also, day baseball played a part in winning over national fans, something else the Sox cannot offer. Hm, I thought the games were shown nationally. I don't understand the day baseball comment. Lee Elia certainly had a low opinion of day baseball fans.
  20. I buzzing after that game, no way do I get any sleep
  21. *Slips* Yep the TD does it, nice game though. Umm, you're dumb.
  22. Hah - "I still think we're the better football team"
