    Hangeland or Lampard would have been very deserving. Hangeland has made a giant difference in Fulham's performace this season. Klinsmann was sacked today by Bayern, btw.

    Ryan Giggs started 12 games this year. Awful. Watching Cletus makes me sad MLS stupidly held on to him, and makes me angry he drank his way out of form.

    Fool, ain't no such thing as a Premiership Championship game. The point stands nonetheless. Foreign Super Bowl would be dumb. The FA Cup comparison is more apt. However, wasn't UEFA ever so briefly considering holding a CL final in NYC a few years back?

    If they can manage to get this lead under 15 before the end of the quarter, you have a small chance. But they have to stop playing like absolute garbage.

    If Benny's back, Edu is playing at Rangers, Sacha gets his groove back, Torres continues to feature for Pachuca, Clint continues to be indispensable and unbenchable, Mastro pulls a Hejduk, Bradley is unbenchable and no one gets hurt we are all of a sudden very deep in the middle. Unfortunately none of them are true wingers. Benny would need a really, really good showing at the Gold Cup to get back on Bradley's radar. That said, we're over 12 months away from SA. Who knows who's going to be hurt/in form/whatever by then.

    When is Ryan Babel getting sold or played? I think him and Dossena are gone this summer. Babel has complained quite a bit about lack of playing time and Rafa does not seem to like him all that much so I would assume that those 2 are gone and they look at bringing in a left winger and maybe Barry. They have been rumors that they are going to go after Santa Cruz as well this summer. . Ryan Babel is overrated anyway.

    I'm pretty sure Sir Alex was drunk when he picked his shooters. Vidic and Ferdinand? Really? When you have Tevez and Scholes on the pitch? Also, great PK by Berbatov. I'm not sure if he put his cigarette down prior to shooting. Oh well. That's what you get when you leave your best 2 players at home. Good for Timmah.

    If Z and Aramis finish their careers as Cubs and win a title, I'd be willing to bet both numbers get eventually retired. No one else is close. Soto has played one season. We have no other homegrown players of note, unless someone thinks Theriot or Fontenot will ever be considered good enough.

    Yes. That's his job. He's there to be an offensive threat that has to be accounted for, nothing more. He's good, but he's definitely a role player. wasnt he like a top 3 pick? shouldn't more be expected than a role player?

    Its the arrogance that takes someone from being great to being transcendent. Ronaldo tries crap no one else would dare try, pulls it off, and gets hated for it. Messi is too team oriented to try some of the more audacious moves-maybe a product of Barca's system, come to think of it. United played really well today. Even Berbatov looked like something other than a guy who was chain smoking the whole game. A max effort all around.

    Ronaldo's goal was a fricking rip. Amazing shot. Villarreall could have used a striker over 5'8 today. Say, like Jozy.

    attempt to start a double play with his poor arm when braun has pretty good speed, hit the ball to the third base side of SS and didn't hit it particularly hard? if they'd tried to turn the DP braun would've been safe by a step and a half and you'd be here bitching that theriot didn't throw home. I would have supported the higher percentage play, which in this instance would have been trying to turn two. Braun doesn't have good speed, and he's running from the 3rd base side of the bag. If you arm sucks, it stands to reason maybe he should make the shorter throw.
