  1. I was BS'ing anyway -- I don't remember which one of you I voted for
  2. http://espn.go.com/mlb/s/transanctionsprimer.html
  3. That's a better angle. You can clearly read Young say some real inflammatory stuff. why must you love Rick Astley so much?
  4. it's the Rule 5 draft
  5. his SLG is also a bit inflated. any increase in walks is likely to cut into that as well, resulting in a wash with the OPS
  6. I'm in total agreement with you that it is never okay to throw at a guy's head. Hit him in the thigh, the ribs, the behind or just waste level or below. I would have retaliated the same way as Lee. Dude was messing with his livelihood and acting like a jerk about it. I missed the entire series, and my ESPN ban is not allowing me to get caught up very quickly. Who was showboating, Soriano?
  7. wow, this was tied up not so long ago, wasn't it?
  8. Most likely not intentional? Are you kidding me? Soriano does a dance up the first base line on Friday. Peavy announces to the world in the paper that he'd drill someone else on the team if it happened to him. Young just happens to go up and in with the Cubs best player. Peavy must know it's going to happen, because he's practically in a sprinters stance in the dugout. Young announces rather rudely to Lee that he should take his base, rather than show a display of remorse and concern for Lee's welfare. On the 5th pitch in a 1-2 count, brilliant theory. Why not on a 1-2 pitch? I find it reasonable to think he'd do in the middle of a count to make it not appear so obvious. right -- it doesn't have to happen on the first pitch of any particular AB, it just has to happen
  9. ditto -- don't know why, but I'm just not a fan
  10. maybe Der "I have a thing for polls" wood should, um, start a poll?
  11. He did give a big wink when he said it. Who doesn't want McNabb on the Bears? But he said it like 6-8 times...did he wink each time?? he had his fingers crossed
  12. maybe it'll heal in a funky position that will allow him to be good
  13. i'd have to say no unless we also get a pre-cancer Big Cat um, are we forgetting we need a catcher in return? Kirt Manwaring plz
  14. I predicted the Brewers would win the division before the season started actually. And everyone laughed at me. What's with the "woe is me" routine? Quite a few people picked the Brewers. I doubt everybody laughed at you if you did pick them. my dad did, but then my mom was all like "what about if they stay healthy and stuff?" and then my dad was all like "but they're young or something" and then my moms was all "but all the other teams in the division suck"
  15. LOW BLOW Although I am a HUGE supporter of the great Demond "Bob" Sanders, it should be known that I am a closet Bears fan and have been all of my life. I am not, nor have I ever been, a fan of the Colts, and I was cheering against them in the Super Bowl. So long as Bob and Dallas have good games, it doesn't upset me one bit if the team fails. I was upset with the outcome of the game, but I felt like a proud parent that 2 of my boys were able to get rings.
  16. what does the winner get? out of Iowa?
  17. they should put Ward in CF, move Pie to LF, have Soriano play SS, Theriot moves to C, and Barrett plays 1B
  18. great pics, great place to watch a game
