  1. The world needs more volleyball.
  2. And if you want to see if you can win with Stanford’s roster, damn near all of them are in the portal.
  3. My guess after last season was that he'd make the jump to the NFL as maybe an OL coach or something so he doesn't have to be fired. Still my hope for this year. except as a favor to Sr., who would make that hire? Nepotism hires are rampant, but usually it’s a situation where a guy has some success and immediately gets a promotion to a job he’s otherwise unqualified. Ferentz is only qualified to be a video assistant or quality control intern.Sr. has a whole lot of friends in the league. Jr. was once a TE coach for a Belichick team that featured Aaron Hernandez and Gronk for crying out loud. Don't you go trying to ruin my dreams that there's an end to this nightmare.
  4. Tying to find a silver lining, maybe if no one worth a damn ever wants to play WR there that wakes someone up to getting rid of Ferentz the Younger? I don't know why this year wouldn't be enough on its own, but... My guess after last season was that he'd make the jump to the NFL as maybe an OL coach or something so he doesn't have to be fired. Still my hope for this year.
  5. The Charlie Jones effect. Basically every WR Iowa has is bailing now, and I can't say as though I blame them. It has to be hard to convince people to join this offense.
  6. It might not be a lot of fun then.
  7. Wait, PJ Fleck? Lol
  8. Yeah this is huge. Huge for the Badgers, huge for the conference. When USC and UCLA join we could have all of these coaches in conference: Lincoln Riley Chip Kelly Jim Harbaugh Ryan Day Luke Fickell Matt Rhule Bret Beileima PJ Fleck James Franklin Sorry if I didn’t mention your coach. If I neglected to, it’s probably because you can’t play offense You mother father….
  9. I genuinely have no idea which teams are legitimately good this year.
  10. Saw a bunch of dumb horsefeathers on the twitter about Mike Vrabel. What a pampered fan base. Fun story, had Iowa managed to score 28 points a game this season (i.e. just be average), they would have been 11-1. Though I believe the OSU game would have been ultra competitive had we had an offense that was capable of moving the ball at least a little. Our AD, HC, and bulk of the fan base seem to believe it’s more about developing young men than it is winning football games. Sorry, but I don’t watch games to see how well guys take losses. Fire every Ferentz.
  11. Smartest man alive
  12. I expect Iowa to counter that hire by extending Brian Ferentz another 5 years.
  13. Those who had faith in Iowa to win today are fools. horsefeathers the entirety of the Ferentz family for this season.
  14. Reminds me of when the B1G first went to divisions and Iowa/Purdue was the protected rivalry game and everyone on both sides was confused.
  15. Well he is from the south so he is stupid.
  16. I have seen enough Falcons games over the years to know that would have hit Mooney perfectly in stride, and he would have racked up another 20-25 yards after the catch setting up the Bears to kick a game tying FG and win in OT.
  17. Lot of illini fans saying Michigan should have gotten flagged for a pick on that 4th down and looking at the replays they may be right. I’ll take the W. Looked ugly, illini are the second team in the last 2 seasons to physically dominate both Michigan lines, the other being Georgia. Illinois is legit, don’t care what their record says. I was yelling that in real time; dude took out 2 corners. That game was equal parts Michigan playing poorly and Illini playing better than I thought they would. I’ve seen enough to now say Michigan/OSU next week is either going to end 51-47 or 13-11. Either way, I think Michigan is the better team if everyone is healthy.
  18. If there's one thing I have learned in my later years it is that you cannot have too many shortstops.
  19. I'm sure they will if they ever get another QB
  20. I sometimes like to revisit the AP preseason polls when we get late in the season 1 Alabama (8-2, #8) 2 Ohio State (10-0, #2) 3 Georgia (10-0, #1) 4 Clemson (9-1, #9) 5 Notre Dame (7-3, #18) 6 Texas A&M (3-7, NR) 7 Utah (8-2, #10) 8 Michigan (10-0, #3) 9 Oklahoma (5-5, NR) 10 Baylor (6-4, NR)
  21. 146 total yards and 24 points
  22. There's a lot to love about Nimmo, but the injury history is very worrisome. Your quote about his fWAR per 150 games is deceiving because he only approached 150 games once in his career and never even came close in all of the other years. Yeah, I gotta side with Stu on this one. Although 2020 he did hit 55 games, which is almost 150. And he hit 140 when he was at an age when he should have been able to play a full 190.
