I don't think there's a whole lot about this that isn't already known. What I doubt will be addressed is one of the biggest underlying issues in that a good chunk, if not all, of the hospitalized kids were drinking quite a bit over the weekend before this happened. I know of at least 3 players who place the blame directly on themselves for doing it and not being properly hydrated when the Monday workouts started. I've also heard through reliable sources that the parental "outrage" has been extremely exaggerated and isolated to a couple of families, and the players who belong to those families are not necessarily in agreement with their family. Many had a fear of mass exodus from the program and fear of recruits backing out when signing day came, but neither of those things happened.
And he has a better than 50/50 shot of living to the age of 60. Getting your hair caught in a car door and being dragged to your death can strike at any time. That is exactly why I force my hair to fall out.
Should is the key word. What most people feel is that with Geo's injury history, it might be a good idea to have a better backup because he's probably going to see more playing time than what you think he his.
Ignore the Pearl incident for a minute and look at what else was going on with the program. They had already been busted with 2 major violations in 5 years.
Yes, Bruce Pearl is the reason the Illinois program was dirty as [expletive] in the 80's. What he did was pretty damn shitty, but come on. Anywho, Mbakwe must like the police. http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/118341934.html
