    He's actually part right. If Ross gets hurt, the pitcher (or series of pinch hitters) has to go in that spot (assuming Montero goes in to catch). If Montero gets hurt, we get a new DH.

    The batter has to declare for the entire PA, but technically the pitcher has to declare first. I do not believe that is true unless it has changed recently. Well the Venditte rule is that the pitcher has to declare first, but I could be wrong about the batter declaring for the entire PA. Is that what you're saying? Correct. I do not believe there is anything preventing a batter from changing so long as the pitcher isn't set.
