  1. Yeah, it did look like his heel came off the bag as Jose was crossing...
  2. That sucks. Macias couldn't bunt then grounds into the DP.
  3. Eckstein's arm is really not good. Most SS would have thrown out Hank. He's slower than slow afterall.
  4. Did he really say that? he's said it twice now. I think the word he used to describe Neifi's season during the first inning was "spectacular" Hold on, let's be a little more objective here. Neifi was hitting .325 earlier in the year and seemingly in the middle of everything that was good for the Cubs. He was spectacular but he's back to his career .260ish BA and now we're upset. I'd say we are a bit spoiled afterall, we were expecting a good Garciaparra at SS and not Neifi on a regular basis. Both of joe's statements are indefensible. End of story End of story for your book. Now back to the game. Good strike out there!

  6. Joe is so articulate. He should give public speaking lessons. It took him until the 5th inning to mention Barry Bonds. I was guessing he would by the 3rd. LOL, Bonds' name has come up a few times already.
  7. LOL, of course it was caught. Soup will give up more runs but so might our 'pen.
  8. Thank goodness. I have read his comments on the other site so I was holding my breath here... I'm still trying to find out what he menat about Rich Harden.
  9. Factoid: He's the Cubs minor league base running instructor
  10. I beg to differ. The scouting report is out and Hairston doesn't have a center fielder's arm. Runners should tag at will if the ball is deep enough.
  11. In all honesty, he's been too wild to get the benefit of the doubt.
  12. Exactly. Must we hear about Bonds on every ESPN Sunday Night game????? He isn't even playing this year.
  13. Miller says: "Derrek Lee was leading (the Triple Crown) until a couple of days ago." No, he was leading until the earlier games today.
  14. I would do that, but the remote is too far away from the nice comfortable rolly chair at my computer. It doesn't roll well on carpet. :P that's what girlfriends are for. I dont think so...
  15. if so, hopefully they omit that annoying boystown thing. Boystown isnt Wrigleyville ok, then the 30 foot corporate golden arches that greet ballpark goers at the front gate. I'm not sure of your point. Hey, are you a member of Cardstalk.com? Your moniker looks familiar. i bet it does. LOL, that's what I thought.
  16. i do Ok, that's understandable but they should be a little more balanced with this broadcast considering its nationally televised. depends who you ask. the game is in stl so thats who they feature. its the exact same way when they broadcast from wrigley. with the lovefest hardon for the cubs that espn has, im surprised youre still complaining. Wow, I hope you are talking about an A's pitcher. Perhaps you meant Harden...

  19. The Cardinals may be ahead of us by more than 10 games in the standings, but it ain't because of fundementals. Also, it's a bit disingenuous for the Cardinals to cry injury when it has only happened to them recently while the Cubs have been plagued for most of the season. Not to be a troll but i dont think the cards have been crying. I disagree, that's not what I read from the St Louis media. The article on Cardnials.com that setup this game had a headline bemoaning the team's injury plagued lineup. It was as if they had a built in excuse for a presummed loss to Prior. Outside of the media, some Cards fans are talking about how their minor league team almost beat us yesterday. To that I must remind them that there is nothing Triple A about Matt Morris' arm yet he gave up 6 earned runs... Those aren't the cards... those are fans and media. True to an extent (especially as it relates to the fans) however, beat writers do represent the team to some degree because they travel with them and are considered insiders.
