  1. Hairston swung at the biggest piece of garbage for a pitch haha.
  2. Idiot Baker. Why the hell is Murton not in the lineup tonight? Kids batting .350 and you don't have him in the game?
  3. Hi, thats TWO players that have ended up being All Stars. I don't need to see the stats to know that theres been thousands of rookie busts, and a very small amount of rookies becoming All Stars. Dubois and Patterson are not amoung them.
  4. Why is it a bad trade? Who really cares. It gets me frustrated that Cub fans care SO MUCH about prospects. If you want to win a World Series, you don't do it with rookies. You need proven players. Dooby struck out a ton, and he was given a chance. He blew it. See ya later.
  5. I love it when people compare unproven Triple A players, to proven MLB players with rings, and a nice resume. What has Pie or Patterson done to deserve any respect? I know they *might* be good players in the MLB, but I'm not gonna sit here and hope for a championship with these guys in the lineup. I want to win NOW, and Pierre will help us get that much closer. Pie is 20 years old, he has a good 3 years left in the minors. As previous posters have said, Pierre is not an average center fielder. He has good stats, for a leadoff hitter and he knows HOW to do it.
  6. Why not? Pierre's having a down year, but has proven to be a force at the top of the order. He did ALOT for the Marlins in 2003. Hes the type of playing that has alot of intangible's, and MORE IMPORTANTLY knows what it takes to win in the playoffs. Too many Cub fans only read stat lines, and solely judge a player based on stats. Some of you forget to realize, making it to the playoffs is one thing, but winning in them is another. Juan Pierre brings experience to the team. People didn't give Pods a chance in the offseason, and he wasen't mentioned anywhere on Sportscenter. All of a sudden he gets on a pretty good team, and the lights turn on. Pierre needs a spark, and a fire. He will get that if he gets to play everyday in Wrigley Field. Pie is way too young to be playing in the majors right now, and I don't want Hairston in CF down the stretch. Hairston's a bench player at best. Hmm lets see, stole 60+ bases in 2003, Stole 45 in 2003. Batting .326 last year, and .300 in 2003. What has Hairston or Pie done? Nothing
  7. Is his number retired on the Cubs? Why doesen't he have a flag flying in Wrigley?
  8. See guys, basically what happens, is Nomar DH's a little bit in the minors, and gets his swing back, then they ease him onto the field to play some defense. So all in all I think he'll be eased back into the swing of things.
  9. the way i see it, don't even show up for the world series if you're gonna play horribly. Last year's world series between Boston and St Louis was so disappointing and boring. The Cards shoulda stayed at home. If you're thinking they'll win this year, don't hold your breath.
  10. Good. I don't fear either of them. They're both an injury away from blowing the season. Remember last year.
  11. Horrible trade idea. If that happened I might have to become a sox fan. Lets be realistic.
  12. How fitting, Corey striking out at the end of the game .
  13. If Dusty wasen't such an arrogant jerk, he'd step down from his job. He isn't doing anything to help this team. He's horrible.
  14. Cubs have hit a new low. I'm happy. I want this team to cut the losers who don't do anything to help. You just don't use Novoa in a close game. You just don't use Macias to play a position when you NEED a win. Byebye Dusty.
  15. Jeez, Maddux is getting shelled by the BREWERS.
  16. This is what I love, somebody with balls speaking their mind. He kinda has a little dig at c-patt at the end there. Walker speaks his mind, which is great.
