    Why the negativity about the Cubs lineup today? There's a whole lot of speed in the lineup today. It should give Pierzynski fits when Pierre and Hairston and such get on base and wreak havoc YEAH!

    I'd really prefer something more specific: Dusty Sucks Hendry Sucks Trib Sucks Neifi Sucks Jacque Jones Sucks Against Lefties Rusch is Fat etc. To me the Cubs as an entity suck so a shirt that says "Cubs Suck" is specific for me. But to your point I suppose everyone could just make their own and if they want to call out a specific sub-part of the group that's perfectically acceptable. No, the problem is that someone wearing a "Cubs Suck" shirt is perceived as a White Sox fan, a Cardinals fan, etc. If you are not specific in your complaint against the Cubs, it will be assumed that you're a supporter of another team. If you wear a shirt that says "ANDY MacPhail SUCKS," then those that see it will understand that you, a Cubs fan, are expressing displeasure with your team.

    Or they could have the trib hire a beat writer who will do nothing but lick the organization. That'd be even better... Maybe they'll take Muskat and cubs.com will hire a real writer! /reach Does anyone actually read anything Carrie Muskat writes?

    Here's an excerpt from today's Jim Baker article at Baseball Prospectus: "...even though I was watching the game myself, I didn't believe I had seen what I had seen. There is something very jarring about a guy bunting hard back to the pitcher to end a game with the tying runs on base. As hard as we try to defend his decision to lay one down--and manager Dusty Baker did just that--it just seems incongruous when the means to tie the game are in place. I will also admit that had a player with a reputation for being clever done it, I might not have been so taken aback." Poor Neifi. He doesn't even have a reputation for being clever.

    While you should never buy a printed ticket on the street, buying one through eBay isn't such a bad idea, especially if the seller takes PayPal. Pay with a credit card, and you'll be fine.

    hes actually worse i think Corey has been good for 5 more runs of offense than Pierre so far this year (per VORP). And Corey has less than 2/3 the plate appearances. And players don't stretch singles into doubles on Corey. Pierre sucks.

    b/c speed never slumps iirc power is too risky because sometimes players who hit the ball far strike out.
