I really think that Bowden will overvalue Pierre's "skills" just like Hendry did. We could dump Pierre, get Church AND a prospect from the Nationals if Hendry would be willing to admit his mistake. The Nats have Marlon Byrd in CF for goodness sake. -
How can we lose to ourselves? :wink:

The Nationals have sent Ryan Church down to AA, despite the fact that he has an OPS above .800. Pierre for Church (and a prospect :lol: )?

Angels release Edgardo Alfonzo

Alfonzo has had 50 at-bats this year. He has a .135 OBP and is slugging .120. He had a .327 OBP and a .345 SLG last year. PECOTA projects him as being worth 1.3 wins above a replacement player this year. Neifi is projected at 2.4 WARP. If Alfonzo is the answer, I don't want to know the question. -

Ozzie got about half as many at-bats as Royce Clayton in 1996, but when he was on the field he was a slightly better player. And 1996 was arguably Clayton's best season. Royce Clayton sucks. -

It's not luck. Hendry got Pierre because he could catch the ball. It's finally paying off. I look for us to go 84-30 for the rest of the season.

Yup. Thome is dangerous, and we don't want to make it a one run game. Plus, I don't think he's too fast. Don't let Thome's stature fool you. He is a burner. 7 of his career homeruns have been the inside-the-park variety. Speed kills.

Why does Marriotti insist on calling people by their full names, including middle names? It's annoying. "When it's Anthony John Pierzynski, resident pest, a God-fearing ballplayer throws a punch at him."

Contreras is coming off of an injury. And one of the things Ozzie usually does right is keep his pitchers from throwing too many pitches.

I hate everything about the Sox...announcers, manager, AJ, etc. etc. I'd trade our manager for theirs in a heartbeat.
