  1. All I can say is that Peoria is going to be STACKED next year. Can't wait to see some of their games. All these guys from Boise + Josh Vitters! I can't wait. Shark Blog:
  2. He's got a good rep defensively. In both 2004 & 2005 Soto was ranked the best Cubs defensive catcher by Baseball America. Not sure about 2006, but 2007's best defensive catcher is some idiot named Jake Muyco who plays for Daytona. His offensive line is .186/.240/.240/.480 this year. I swear the Cubs will probably bring up this bozo before Soto. Anyways... 1B G. Soto 2/3, R, 2 2B (26), 5 RBI, BB Today's performance gets 2/2 Geo's sliding in to Hendry's dumb head.
  3. An interesting writeup of the Tenn game in the Knoxville News: http://knoxnews.com/news/2007/aug/13/samardzija-in-groove-with-smokies/
  4. Today's performance gets 2 sliding Sotos to Hendry's head!!!
  5. By the way, Geovany Soto also has a 13-game hitting streak
  6. He said he had family in Colorado during one of his fits. SEND HIM THERE TODAY! Him and LaTroy Hawkins will be best buds there. We'll take...Matt Holliday. Thank you.
  7. Smokies come back and win 10-9 on a WP to end the game!
  8. Iowa Report C Soto is only the most clutch player ever: 2 for 4, 4 RBIs! 3B Matt Craig absolutely owns AAA, was a single short of the cycle, avg now off the charts RF Sam Fuld was 2 for 4, with a walk and 2 doubles
  9. He probably reads the negative threads about him on here for motivation.
  10. Some VERY interesting comments after Daytona's game yesterday: http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJournalOnline/Sports/Headlines/sptCUBS01080807.htm
  11. Here's a couple good ITI articles: Acosta Enjoys Homecoming of Sorts Samardzija Pleased with Double-A Debut
  12. Is it just me, or is the talent just barren from Boise to Iowa? Peoria, Daytona and Tennessee all need to step it up.
  13. I always accidentally click West Tenn instead of Tenn on the AA scoreboard and I think "When did the Cubs get Matt Tuiasosopo?".
  14. From Shark's blog. I always find these amusing:
  15. http://knoxnews.com/news/2007/aug/07/samardzijacools-offbiscuits/ Samardzija cools off Biscuits
  16. http://cubs.scout.com/2/665345.html What does Designated for Assignment mean for Dopirak? Did we release him? Does getting rid of Wade Miller open up another roster spot?
  17. I shot an e-mail to Iowa announcer Deene Ehlis about Josh Kroger and he said it's not a serious oblique injury and the earliest he could come back would be Friday.

  19. UPDATE: http://knoxnews.com/news/2007/aug/06/new-smokies-state-their-case-for-staying/ (Edited by moderator for copyrighted content--it is against NSBB policy to post entire article.)
  20. This is getting ridiculous. Hendry, put down your krispy kremes and call up this guy Soto NOW!
  21. Can we get this back on track please: http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJournalOnline/Sports/Headlines/sptCUBS01080507.htm
  22. You have to consider that the Smokies were going against the best pitcher in the Southern League last night in Chris Mason. He was TB's 2nd rounder in 2005 and just became the first 13-game winner in the SL with the league-leading ERA of 2.41.
  23. Apparently Kroeger is out for the year. That was mentioned in another thread. Are you sure??? California Raisin was just speculating when he said this in the AAA injury thread:
