At this point, isn't service time to the Cubs rather irrelevant? I have come to the belief that he is the Cubs' 2000 version of the 1990's Mike Harkey, a heralded pitcher who got hurt and may never be the same. Yeah, at this point, I think the organization needs to be more concerned with the cost of Prior ($4 million per year) than the service time he has left. If he's healthy, Prior's worth more than $4 million, but if he doesn't pitch one game for the Cubs, the team could have used that money towards a contributing player.
