  1. This is really, really bad. I mean awful. I didn't mind the "Bud Light Bleachers" at all, because it was just a name. The batters eye restaurant, eh, it's not obnoxious and you can hardly tell it's there. But this is something new and disgusting. Part of the very reason people come to Wrigley is because it's such a gorgeous and unspoiled ballpark, and this tarnishes it significantly. ****ing pisses me off.
  2. HAhaha....this from the Cubs blog http://www.goatriders.org: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/KurtEvans/jacquebaserunner.jpg
  3. This is good news. Floyd will be the platoon partner with Jones. Plus, it gives us a lot of flexibility.
  4. That's a really cool effect on the Daisuke photo. I wonder how they did that.
  5. Friday May 18th vs. the White Sox.
  6. * Roto please *Max IP is a fine idea *Don't really care about the bench *Commish review is fine with me, I hated that trades took so long
  7. I think the posturing is a bit unprofessional, but we don't really know what normally goes into these negotiations behind closed doors. I think letting Z go at this point because he just wants to get paid is unrealistic. We need him, and he rocks and he's young.
  8. It's a lose-lose situation for the Cubs and a win-win for Z. Let's just hope that Hendry finds some extra money to lock him up. Best case, he's signed before the season to a 3-5 year deal. Worst cast, he isn't signed, but the Cubs are close enough to the playoffs near the deadline, so Hendry can't trade him, and then the Cubs miss the playoffs, and the Cubs get diddly poo.
  9. For your first point, it doesn't matter how many innings were pitched. If they got pulled after 3 innings and were losing it's still a loss. You need to pitch 5 for a win, but there's no minimum for a loss. Unless I'm understanding your point incorrectly. Nope you've nailed me. For some reason I thought you had to pitch 3 innings to qualify for a loss.
  10. Oh, and if Maddux had remained on the Cubs, he would have been in the top 5 in losses.
  11. An Atlanta pitcher that saved my fantasy team. Rook they brought up, could be a sleeper next year. Most of the time, they probably didn't get a decision due to lack of innings pitched, plus most were brought up mid season. Marshall went down due to injury.
  12. I was the under the impression that "affording" Zambrano isn't the problem, but rather worries about injuries (ala the last two long contracts we gave to pitchers). Santana is consistently the best pitcher in baseball. And he's 27.
  13. Either way, it reminds me of the way they treated Giardi before forcing him out...
  14. They hold it in a phone booth. I just spit 'Nilla Wafers all over my keyboard. Post of the day.
  15. What would be the best way to go about this, given that Minnesota's payroll is about at it's limit right now? I'm not sure we have the pitching prospects to pull this one off. Maybe Hill, Guzman, and Pie?
  16. From Ben Maller: Excellent....yes.....anger....resentment.....use the dark side.....
  17. How long do "big" pitchers usually last? I would really never trade Zambrano unless we got a player the caliber and age of Miguel Cabrera.
  18. Others are more than welcome to do this, and then post it. :P My eyes started to cross after a while, so I really have no motivation to input the away dates.
  19. I was bored and obsessed, so I manually put in each home game, with the time, the opponent, the promotions, and the classification for tickets (value, regular, prime). I thought this might be useful in the upcoming weeks for those purchasing tickets. Anyway, here it is. If you find any mistakes, please let me know. Also, if you want to modify it, go ahead and maybe place a copy here for everyone else.
  20. Okay, there has to be more "Prime" games this year, and a lot less "Regular" games.
  21. Huh, never realized MLB prevents athletes from selling beer in commercials. I guess it's a good thing.
  22. Macias.
  23. Saw this on the impatient website, http://fireloupiniella.wordpress.com/ Really, really funny reviews of some of the worst Cubs to don the Uniform, and some horrible remembered moments. My favorite so far is Enrique Wilson.
  24. Well I ended up buying a non-named "23" jersey, and I like it a lot, but I want to put the name "Sandberg" on the back...and I'm gonna buy an old Cubs logo arm patch. Any ideas on how to find the letters Sandberg to put on the jersey, or do you know of anywhere that would do it?
  25. This could be a very important point.
