    I don't see the D-Backs being that good. Sure, they got butt loads of potential, but I see them needing another year to really compete. And boy, the ChiSox get NO love at all in those stats. WOW.

    my goodness, people, is that the only play you watched the entire series? ONE bad defensive play does not mean that defense cost the cubs a trip the WS...there were dozens upon dozens of bad pitches, and dozens upon dozens of unproductive at bats. have a little perspective. Thank you!

    Wow, that team's AVG is gonna be terrible. Not very solid pitching, although it is deep.

    It's all about the W's and L's. You can't win without good defense. You need offense too, and I don't think Pie is going to really hurt us. There is a logjam in the OF right now, but I really think Murton & Soriano are going to be mainstays. Yes you can. You might have trouble winning playoff games with bad defense, but just look at the Red Sox in 2004.

    Why not just move Jones to center if Soriano is that bad? Besides, he'll get better as the year moves on.

    I'm sure Andy was a nice guy and all, but just about anyone could have replaced him. I strongly agree.

    link Well, I wanted BJ Ryan when he was available in FA, so I agree about spending on a closer. I have to think that's one of the biggest wastes of money out there. Spending big for a guy who gives you very few innings pitched. Develop him out of your system, take a closer from the minor leagues, but don't spend tons of money on a guy that sees so few IP.
