  1. Sori owns Milton, today won't be the day off I don't think.
  2. I would love to see Federer win this to cement his place among the best to ever play, but I wish he would have went through Nadal to do it. Seems like as fans we were cheated out of that moment.
  3. Vitters has 13 homers. Moustakas who projects to have 70 power hit all of 22 last year in this same league. Pretty amazing.
  4. How is Maria unseeded? Has she been out for a bit?
  5. There might be something to that, but if you look at most of the prolific power hitters of this era, you'll find a ton of strikeouts scattered among them. Guys like Albert Pujols and Aramis Ramirez are more the exception than the norm. There was a study done on I want to say The Hardball Times awhile ago that looked at the correlation between power hitters and strikeouts. The general finding from the study was that an increase in home run hitting tended to lead itself to an increase in strikeouts. I'll post it if I find it. I think it's difficult to compare HR hitters across eras in that way, too. Pitching and hitting have changed so much over the years. How many Loogys do you think Ruth faced in his career?
  6. I don't get at all how this means anything.
  7. He then went on to talk about how you can't hit the ball under the wind. Really interesting stuff. Banner day for Tim. I love it when baseball announcers give us science lessons. I learn all sorts of things I never did in grade school, high school, or college. I wish they wouldn't limit it to just that. Think if Tim was allowed to have the sex talk with the viewers.
  8. Who were the worst people ever. Sandberg is the obvious answer.
  9. Honestly, I think the high moral standard comes from obnoxious sportswriters and politicians with nothing better to do more than from the fans. With McGwire and Bonds, it was blatantly obvious they were using PEDs. Yet, their fans loved them and to this day still defend those guys. Go Milton go! You got your facts a little screwed up there man... Giants fans ignored the facts about Bonds, Us Card fans did'nt find out Mac was juicing until he had retired. Now that I know about it I hate his red headed guts, as do MANY St. Louisans. Why did'nt you mention Sosa? Maybe because nothing has come out on him yet? Pretty much that. I'll happily throw his name onto the pile of suspected guys, but I was going for guys who'd been confirmed abusers. Cubs fans still haven't found out if Sosa was juicing. My point was more along the lines of the "high moral standard" thing than anything else. I really don't think fans care all that much if players on their teams were abusing. I agree. I could care less if Sosa was juicing as I am pretty sure everyone else was as well.

  11. Yeah we should have won the first game as well as the next two. Exactly. I was dreading them coming into town the way we've been playing. I still think we are going to take off soon. We can't keep hitting ths badly.
  12. Yeah we should have won the first game as well as the next two.
  13. Jeff Weaver was some kind of stupid to leave St. Louis.
  14. Yeah a guy with an obp over a hundred points higher than his batting average is just guessing up there =D>
  15. You just gotta ride him out. We all know the hot streak is coming.
  16. This is the spot that Derrek has sucked in. MLB tonight said he was 2 out of 10 getting a runner home in these spots.
  17. The whole starting staff has really started to come together nicely it seems. They just got off to a slow start. Plus I think a lot of the problems we had in the early going had more to do with bullpen issues than anything else. Yeah, there were some admittedly bad starts in the early going. However, the rotation even with Harden out isn't too shabby. I'm hoping Randy Wells can keep up his production, although I'm a tad skeptical about that. Now it's just a matter of getting the offense up to a palatable level in order for this team to keep treading water until Ramirez comes back and/or Hendry makes a trade. I see no reason why Wells won't be ok against teams his first start against them. It's once he faces them again I am worried about. But, either way he isn't horrible for a 5 or 6.

  19. I keep reading that the Tigers will take Turner if he's there for them. That sucks. Would like to be able to add him.
  20. Agreed. If the Lakers can play at that level no one can touch them.
  21. Did you happen to be alive in 94?
