Why would anyone want Rich to fail? Just kind of found it funny that after he goes and dominates in his last outing, he can't escape the first today. I realize we get a "better" prospect if he does well...but at this point with us playing the way we are, I'm looking for anything remotely entertaining. I don't find anything entertaining about it. Rich didn't do anything for us to want to see him fail. If anything Lou and Larry failed Rich with the quick hook they had on him.

2006 The Cubs scored 716 runs in 2006; they're on pace for 702. They're actually worse this year believe it or not. Damn that's fun to think about.

If depends if they find him or Ascanio first when digging through the cob webs. How long will it take the Cubs to figure out that they have needed an extra pinch hitter many more times than they have needed a 12th pitcher? Do they even realise they have a 12th pitcher? We have hitters we don't even use. Hoff and Fox need to play. We can't score runs they can produce runs.

He saw like 1 strike. True, but after the first couple were called you could try and at least foul off the same pitch with two strikes.
