Don't mean to sound like a know-it-all jerk here...but bunting ain't hard. Never understood people who couldn't do it effectively. Granted Jake Peavy's balls have a TON of movement..but still.

I actually don't think we're screwed as the title of this thread suggests. It's always the young kid pitchers who still have pimples who own us. We turn every bum rookie into a Cy Young. So, given that Peavy is a stud, I think we're gonna hit him well.

Exactly. For years we've turned nobody pitchers into Cy Young when they start against us. I'd rather face Roy Oswalt or Jake Peavy than some rookie making his first start. They always own us.

What'd you think of Trustmark Park? I think it's a pretty nice facility. I still contend the best minor league park is AutoZone park in Memphis. -

Hoping Vance can tell us since he was at today's game. Last season Holliman was in the upper 80s with good secondary pitches (curve, slider, change) but he used to throw in the low 90s in college. He's definitely cut down on his walks this year. He threw mid-90's quite a bit at Ole Miss, but he mainly worked in the high 80's. I figured some professional pitching coaches would get his velocity up a little higher. He never hit for himself at Ole Miss either, so I didn't know he had such a big bat!! -
