  1. Good lord, Marmol and Guzman look just alike from a distance.
  2. He has a monstrous dip in too. He's turned into John Kruk. More like John Goodman's "Babe"

  4. Hmm, Mitre pitching tomorrow. He should destroy the Cubs. Glad I got him on my fantasy team.

  7. But, but but.....IZTURIS!! His defense....
  8. no way man, ya know, Izturis is like, fifty gajiliion times better at defense than The Riot.
  9. Not gonna bitch at DeRo for that. It was an absolute rocket. Those are hard to scoop sometimes on those rocket in between hops.
  10. No way man, the people LOVE Chavez. Just ask Sullymon
  11. Last year's Miggy would have scored on that. He's looking like Pizza the Hut this year.
  12. How far away do you think Patterson is from being our 2nd baseman? He is already considered one of the oganizations best baserunners and plate disciplined hitter (I know, it's funny). I wonder about Chris Jackson, the outfielder, also. Lots of speed coming up. He seems pretty close. He's hitting .323/.380/.521 with a .901 ops and 6 homers in 167 AB's in AAA.
  13. The main thing is that I just don't think we NEED him at corner OF or Mid-INF. Our future is with Soriano and Murton as corner's and Theriot and Patterson up the middle.
  14. He's played 3B in over 100 MLB games. I'm sure he has the athleticism to play OF. Although, if he's not catcher, he doesn't fit into my long term scheme for what the Cubs should look like in the future: C: ?? 1B: Lee 2B: Patterson 3B: Ramirez SS: Theriot LF: Soriano CF: Pie RF: Murton
  15. Intriguing. I could almost guarantee that his offense would go way up if he was able to focus almost solely on that. Put him in RF. I'm sure he's got a good arm. If he doesn't have to catch I would bet he is good for something like .290 / .370 / .475 and 20-25 HRs. Those numbers are what I would expect Murton to do eventually, but with a higher average.

  17. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/403946,CST-SPT-cubnt28.article Doesn't sound like a bad idea. With Barrett as my fantasy catcher, at least now I know what days he won't be playing. :-)
  18. Our division might be like the NL West a few years ago and have a team with a losing record win the whole thing. As of now, if we play reasonably to our potential, then we SHOULD run away with it. I figured the Brewers would cool off and I still think they might be a year and a few pitchers away from running away with it. Some keys to playing to our potential: - GET RID of Eyre - GET RID of Eyre - GET RID of Eyre - GET RID of Eyre - Lee needs to hit the long ball - Soriano '' '' '' '' '' - Better baserunning - Zambo needs to stay consistent - Theriot should play everyday at SS
  19. I doubt his ADD has anything to do with it. Like I've said before, I personally am very ADD and know many people who are, and concentrating during something they enjoy is rarely a problem. I never had a problem concentrating during baseball games and I was never on adderall during them. But perhaps he's a different case.
  20. Rapada is a LOOGY. Piggy is not. http://www.minorleaguesplits.com/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?pl=449060&tm=IowPCL&bp=p http://www.minorleaguesplits.com/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?pl=450320&tm=IowPCL&bp=p http://www.minorleaguesplits.com/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?pl=450320&tm=TenSL&bp=p Those in depth stats really show that Piggy is pitching much better than Rapada. WHIP Piggy: .87 Rap: 1.43 OBP Piggy: .232 Rap: .345 SLG Piggy: .296 Rap: .438 OPS Piggy: .528 Rap: .783
  21. I don't understand why Rapada would be better than Piggy. Piggy: 13 games, 1.20 ERA, 15 IP, 11 hits, 2 earned runs, 16 k's, 2 walks, .204 opp BA Rapada: 23 games, 3.91 ERA, 23 IP, 20 hits, 10 earned runs, 21k's, 10 walks, .240 BA Obviously Piggy's stats look better from a distance because he's pitched less innings, but even proportionally they seem much better. The walks and opp. BA are what jump out the most at me.
  22. My thoughts exactly. He DID catch it. Not like he didn't catch it and was trying to be sly about it.
  23. Piggy's line at Iowa: 13 games, 1.20 ERA, 15 IP, 11 hits, 2 earned runs, 16 k's, 2 walks, .204 opp BA Eyre's line: 17 games, 8.16 ERA, 14.1 IP, 23 hits, 13 earned runs, 15 k's, 12 walks, .365 opp BA GET IT DONE!
