Buckner came back to play and retire with Boston in 1990. He was cheered despite being terrible. Anyone else watch the Buckner play and think that Mookie might have been safe even if Buckner fielded it cleanly? Mookie was hauling ass down the line.

Just like the Cubs would destroy the Dbacks? The Dbacks are for real, it will be a hell of a series. They aren't for real. Gimme a break. That series would go 5 games at best. LOL How in the hell can you say they arent for real after they have kicked the Cubs asses the 1st 2 games of this season. They won 90 games, and have completely dominated this series, so you gimme a break. So you're picking the D'backs to win that series. Care to make a wager? Im not betting on the Dbacks, but it wont be a total destruction like you are saying. I'd bet a good amount of money it would be total destruction. They are completely dominating the 2nd best offense in the entire MLB. -
I can sort of relate to OMC's experience and don't care that he tosses that type of line out there regularly, but this analogy made me LMAO. Oh and I don't give a fig about Lilly's reaction. It was a heat of the moment thing. The extended over-analysis of this event is insane. That's pretty funny IMB. Makes me regret blocking you.

+1 At the very least it showed he cared a great deal about what he was doing and understood the significance of what had just happened. To many of these guys, baseball is just "what they do", it's their business. Lilly's reaction didn't seem at all like that.

What the crap is this all about?? You are writing as if he had time to reflect upon what he was going to do. Do you see how fast he reacted, the ball hadn't even crossed the fence when his glove hit the ground. All it "signals" to me is that a guy was pissed off that he just blew a MASSIVELY important game wide open.

My girlfriend is a huge Cubs fan, so we're basically not even on talking terms right now. mine likes the cubs a lot too (she had to be the only girl in ohio today wearing a matt murton t-shirt jersey), but she's only watched them for 2 years, so I don't think she understands how i can get that upset over a silly sport. Yes exactly. I think mine is moreso not on speaking terms with me because of my sour attitude right now, not so much that she's pissed about the Cubs.
