  1. Watch the Cowboys win the toss now
  2. BWAHAHAHAHAHAH icing the kicker can officially go to hell
  3. Drew Brees is just a man. 26-30, 320 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT He's doing all this without Colston and Shockey too.
  4. I dunno. I mean he is doing a great job overall but he still a horrible running back. He is a great all around player tho, There was WAY to much hype put onto his shoulders to start with tho. I don't care if he's a "horrible" running back. It's not like anyone expected him to be a Shaun Alexander type or something. I don't even think about him as a running back. That's just where he's listed at. He's basically like an uber-scat back. I mean, he's got the most career receptions of anyone in history through their first 3 years. I definitely wouldn't hold his inability to run like Deuce McAllister against him. I love the guy. And I agree with you about the hype thing. He's never going to be able to do what he did at USC in the NFL. However, he's catching up to my and most Saints fans realistic expectations.
  5. REGGIE! REGGIE! REGGIE! That's 2 TD's today for him. He's finally living up to his hype.
  6. C'mon Vikings. I want to see an 0-16 team in my lifetime.
  7. If the 'Aints don't beat the Raiders today, they may as well just hang it up for the season.
  8. And I take it you were actually defending OSU in that thread???
  9. when it happens in the SEC, it's because every team is so awesome when it happens in the Big 10, it's because the conference is "down" Who says that? Arkansas, State, and Ole Miss suck donkey balls. I doubt anyone would say they are awesome. That's the whole point of saying the conference is ridiculous.
  10. The SEC is ridiculous. The thought that anyone can beat anyone on Saturday is most relevant to the SEC this year. Miss St. beating Vandy? Arkansas over Auburn? Hell, Ole Miss beat Florida and now Florida goes and embarrasses LSU.
  11. Absolutely. I would never want to compare them as human beings.
  12. It was more a case of the writers hated Ted Williams. Indeed. Fans today don't really understand that Williams was basically the Barry Bonds of his day. Nearly universally hated.
  13. Interesting that the wheel is on the passenger side.
  14. Back in the old days, photo postcards of baseball players and teams were a big deal. These are mostly postcards that came out for the 1907 World Series between the Cubs and Tigers, some from later times:
  15. I'm definitely on the Fontenot for Starter bandwagon. Let him start at second everyday and put DeRosa back as the uber-substitute.
  16. Obviously assuming sarcasm here, but what do your (or PECOTA's) statistical projections have as his ceiling? Why do you assume sarcasm? I think Fontenot could be an everyday starter at second for us. He's got just as much pop (if not more) than DeRosa, is better at OBP, and is better defensively. Let Fontenot start at second and put DeRo back in his uber-sub roll.
  17. Those were the days....Ryno in his prime for 7 million a year.... http://i.cdn.turner.com/sivault/si_online/covers/images/1992/0316_large.jpg
  18. Orioles desperately want Tex, they'll go after him first. I'm no good at the transactions department. My brain doesn't work that way very good. I never submit trade ideas. You are right about Tex I'd think. However, in theory, that trade idea wouldn't be a bad one, right?
  19. What about Lee, Cedeno, and Marquis to the Orioles for Roberts? Orioles don't have a first baseman or a shortstop, and are weak in consistent pitching starters.
  20. I put this video together using the audio of the 1939 induction speeches for the Hall of Fame. In it, you can hear the voices of Walter Johnson, Tris Speaker, Napoleon Lajoie, George Sisler, Cy Young, Pete Alexander, Eddie Collins, Honus Wagner, & Babe Ruth making brief statements. Pretty damn cool to hear their voices I think. http://media.putfile.com/1939-Baseball-Hall-of-Fame-induction-speeches Standing, l to r: Wagner, Alexander, Speaker, Lajoie, Sisler, & Johnson Seated, l to r: Collins, Ruth, Mack, & Young (Cobb missed the opening ceremony because he didn't want to be near Judge Landis, whom he deeply hated) http://baseball-fever.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25220&d=1181776442
  21. Zoilo isn't too hard to figure out. He had a pretty good year in a season of very low offense and his team won the AL pennant that year. The interesting thing about his near unanimous selection is that the man below him was a teammate who arguably had a better season. Zoilo Versalles (MIN), 1965: .273/.319/.462, 115 OPS+, 19 HR, 45 doubles, 12 triples, 77 RBI, 126 Runs, 27 SB Tony Oliva (MIN), 1965: .321/.378/.491, 141 OPS+, 16 HR, 40 doubles, 5 triples, 98 RBI, 107 Runs, 19 SB As far as his fielding is concerned, I don't know much about that. Although he did make 39 errors that year at shortstop... :?
  22. Picture of Guy Bush, pitcher from the Cubs from 1923-1934 winning 152 games with them in that time. I posted the pic because I'd never seen such a good shot of that logo on his shoulder. That's pretty cool. http://www.baseball-fever.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=53082&stc=1&d=1223508606
  23. Wait, you can't say that, you are becoming a lawyer. Isn't that the next step after becoming a lawyer? I'm already a lawyer. Most politicians are lawyers, but most lawyers don't become politicians.
