  1. Beimel to the Rox for two minor leaguers. Good move by the Rockies.
  2. 1907 World Champion Cubs poster:
  3. Some of those are understandable....
  4. I only got 14/20 :x Oh c'mon. Which ones did you miss man? Those were all really, really easy.
  5. I feel like I'm reading a foreign language in this thread.
  6. you made this term up, didn't you naw, I've heard it on the Opie/Anthony show for years. Not sure where it came from originally.
  7. Matthew Stafford douche-chill alert: http://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php/topic,11749.0.html
  8. I haven't defended Slaughter and wouldn't on this issue. What he did actually effected what happened on the field. I'm pretty sure most all the guys in the HOF who played before 1950 would be considered flaming bigots today. Kick them all out.
  9. It shows a real ignorance of baseball history if you think that someone like Cobb had anything to do with continued segregation in the game. Cobb, for all his bigotry off the field, actually tried to get a negro league catcher that he liked onto the Tigers by trying to disguise him as a Cuban. He wanted to win and that's all he cared about on the field. He also used to go to Detroit Stars games all the time and hang out in the dugout to see what he could learn from them. Direct those complaints toward Cap Anson (who set the segregation precedent) and Judge Landis (who continued the segregation) and you'd have a valid argument that I might agree with. and yes i'm talking about ty cobb again, har har, hee hee
  10. Priorities? It's the BASEBALL Hall of Fame. Being a womanizer, a racist, a drunk, or having various other behavioral issues doesn't have any effect on what happens between the lines. If not being a douche was a prerequisite to getting into the HOF, you'd have about 20 guys in there.
  11. Oh Inari, I like your sig. I used to do that with Rickey Henderson everytime in that game.
  12. You want me to waste your time posting "Nuh-Uh! I totally heard it?" Dude, someone else posted hearing it too. I wrote what I heard. Sorry to "waste" your time. Yea, while it still obviously may not be accurate, it WAS on the radio, on two stations at least. May not be enough for someone who's probably ready to go claiming a Grassy Knoll theory... Hey, you should expect that sort of scrutiny when you a) aren't exactly a known poster around here, and b) no one had yet corroborated your story. I wouldn't have posted that had I already known about the second poster verifying that he heard the rumor.
  13. You want me to waste your time posting "Nuh-Uh! I totally heard it?" Dude, someone else posted hearing it too. I wrote what I heard. Sorry to "waste" your time. That was AFTER I made my post.
  14. The OP is lurking in this forum and hasn't come forth to explain himself or what he heard. This is a hoax

  17. I'm having flashbacks to my Cubs.com days like 6 years ago during trade deadline time.
  18. no telling how many more games we would have won had he been healthy. damn we missed him.
  19. as Harry used to say, "he's gotta have a ski mask on when he goes to pick up his check"
  20. This thing is kinda neat, it shows any division race from any season as an animated race. watching 1969 is no fun http://www.baseballrace.com/main_racePlayer.asp
  21. apologies to my friend Fred. I just can't help it http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/cat-mouse.gif
