I'm certainly no Bulldog homer, in fact I loathe them, but they really aren't that bad of a team. And I'd imagine they are certainly better than Indiana, Ark. State, or whatever teams Iowa had some issues with. The Bulldogs hung in there very well with Florida, came within 4 inches and two stupid coaching calls from beating LSU, hung in pretty well against Georgia Tech, and were within a touchdown of Houston.

A Rose Bowl appearance is that massive of a deal to you that it is one of 2 things you want to see in your sports life? You're out of your element here. How is that? It seemed like he was setting his sights a little low to me, but then he clarified that these were his "realistic" hopes.

An 8 team playoff would be really good this year. This would be THE perfect year for it. Again, I still don't understand the reluctance to a playoff system. So many people have said "well the powers that be who control the Bowl games don't want this to happen". Well why the hell not? You can keep "the bowl" aspect of it. For example, have the Cotton Bowl be a quarterfinal, Rose Bowl be a semifinal, etc. I guarantee you more people would watch a bowl game if it meant something. So I don't know why the promoters of the bowls would have a problem with something that would give them MORE viewers.
