  1. the latter. Running the table in the SEC is ridiculous.
  2. His "OH NO!!! NO!!!!!" during the Brant Brown drop says everything about his love for the Cubs.
  3. Always liked this article: http://nationalsportsreview.com/2005/03/02/ron-santo-hall-worthy-2/ Top 10 Win Shares of the 1960's: Hank Aaron - 340 Willie Mays - 337 Frank Robinson - 307 Roberto Clemente - 260 Harmon Killebrew - 257 Ron Santo - 247 Mickey Mantle - 247 Willie McCovey - 237 Brooks Robinson - 233 Carl Yastrzemski - 230
  4. hated that I never got to use this after I made it: http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/santohof1.gif
  5. that should read The Hall of Fame failed to recognize him. It's their failure not his.
  6. I don't understand how that could be considered an apples to apples comparison based upon the current facts of the Newon case. Reggie did receive benefits while playing for USC, right? I assume that Cam wouldn't currently be eligible if there were evidence that Newton knew of his father's actions, or that the family had actually received an improper benefit, or that the father's solicitation had targeted Auburn. But do you really think he didn't know?
  7. You must be using Scout. Rivals had Dyer at #11, Coleman at #22 (#3 OL and a 5-star), Corey Lemonier at #35, Reed at #46, Whitaker at #56, and throw in the top JUCO player and that seems elite to me.
  8. Right, that's the ONLY reason why I'm accusing them of cheating...gimme a break. There's a WHOLE hell of a lot of smoke out there. But for someone who has followed SEC West recruiting for years, that Auburn class last year was mighty fishy to a lot of people when they signed all those studs from surrounding states. As soon as they got all those guys people were remarking on "how'd they pull that off?".
  9. No doubt. Oh, and it probably helps that his Defensive Coordinator right now at State is Manny Diaz who is the son of the Mayor of Miami from 2001-2009.
  10. Do you really believe this? All that smoke and no fire... Y'all happen to get the #1's from MS, AK, LA, FL's #3 player, GA's #5 and the top JUCO player and it's totally because Auburn is just that badass and Chizik is such a draw. C'mon.
  11. I'll reiterate that I'd like to see embedded vids
  12. that's because most people from mississippi can't spell or pronounce mississippi. HEY-OOOOOOOOOOOO I don't get it
  13. i completely agree with you. but what does "depending on who you are" mean? fans of the program v. rival fans (or disinterested fans). or did you mean by geography or age? I guess I've never thought of any particular group using any of those terms, though I've heard them regularly. No real distinction, just whichever you've heard enough times that it comes to mind at a particular moment. If I've been reading Every Day Should Be Saturday, I'd probably use Ole Miss, but if I'm talking with co-workers and they use the other one, then I might use Mississippi next time I reference them. As for the others, I pretty much always use Mizzou like OleMiss uses, uh, Ole Miss, but I've never really thought of it as strange if people refer to my school as Missouri. Well it is strange to us. I went there for seven years and am fourth generation alum and I've absolutely never heard anyone associated with the school say Mississippi. And like I said earlier I can't recall ever having an in person conversation where someone said that. Perhaps it is entirely a southern thing because of everyone's knowledge of the SEC down here. I don't necessarily have a problem with it, but I'm just not used to seeing people use it, that's why I asked about your use of it.
  14. one more year of this bullcrap and he will be gone. He definitely deserves another year at this point. sidebar: why do you write Mississippi instead of Ole Miss? I know that you see us referred as that in rankings and every now and then in articles, but I've never come across anyone in a casual conversation refer to us as "Mississippi". Maybe out of the south they do... I dunno.
  15. having lived in both, I agree. However, going from 3.4 mil to 2 mil to coach way out there so far away from where he is from, etc. Unlikely.
  16. that made me lol
  17. Lots of rumors going around saying Nutt going to Colorado, which I think is absurd. I doubt he would leave the SEC voluntarily and second he'd have to take a paycut of about one and a half million dollars.
  18. Gruden to Miami at 3.4 mil a year per Finebaum. Awesome hire.
  19. At Giants-Jags game right now. I like this new stadium they have. It has four very large jumbotrons in each corner as opposed to just the single monstrous one at Jerry World. Giants defense looks like isht
  20. Of course it is easier for a lefty to play first. Pretty sure that is a bit of baseball practicality that goes back 150 years.
  21. I take it Ole Miss beat PSU today? correct. Not even sure if y'all have a good team or not so not really it is something to gloat about but I felt like doing it anyways.
  22. Suck it, Derwood!! :)
  23. Not sure if any broadcaster has a more annoying "faux laugh" than Verne. I'm hoping one day they find "Verne was here" scratched into the wall of his room.
  24. LOL.....Roll Tide
  25. Good bargain for a dude making $525,000
